One should raise awareness on the importance and problems caused by biofilms in clinical situations, highlighting the need to develop better strategies to combat biofilms.

Delighted to share our recently published work!
Ever wondered how Klebsiella (and others) deals with capsule production’s costs ?
The paper: journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128/...
Thread👇
How complex functions, with important physiological and evolutionary impacts get repeatedly and efficiently transferred across genomes?
That’s what we explored using one of the fastest-evolving loci in Bacteria: the capsule locus.
The paper: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
Thread👇
And here it is, the completed BASEL collection finally published as early access in @plosbiology.org - see the thread for more details. 🤗🧬🎣
Our review on recent advances in #PhageTherapy against Klebsiella pneumoniae is out!
We analyze KP-phage interactions from an eco-evo perspective, summarize many lab and clinical trials, and discuss novel approaches like genetic engineering & machine learning.

👩🔬 On this #WomenInScience Day 2025, we celebrate the inspiring female scientists at Institut Pasteur! More than researchers, they make science accessible to all. 🌍✨
Find out here what our scientists were recently up to : www.pasteur.fr/en/research-...
Let’s continue to amplify their voices 🚀
American science and medicine has been thrown into chaos and uncertainty over the past week. Here are some stories to get up to speed. 1/12

Congrats Géraldine! well deserved !👏🎉
Bravo Aude !!
2 days left. Asst/Assoc Prof position in bacteriology, Université de Montréal. Deadline ***Nov. 15*** come join our growing community of bacteriologists. BTW Canada is the USA’s Bluesky!
Our last story is in mBio !(tinyurl.com/h83mh8vy).
Oral bacteria often form mixed species biofilms where aggregation drives interspecies interactions.
Here we investigated Veillonella parvula aggregation with other bacteria and identified molecular actors at the base of such specific interactions!
Diderm Firmicutes strike again! "The Mla system of diderm Firmicute Veillonella parvula reveals an ancestral transenvelope bridge for phospholipid trafficking"
Another beautiful story on the bacterial envelope with @chrisbel70.bsky.social @jmghigolab.bsky.social out today! rdcu.be/drNQ3 #MicroSky
Our story on the Maintenance of Lipid Asymmetry (Mla) system in the amazing Veillonella parvula and in the whole bacterial diversity it now out in Nature Communications.
Check it out!

Our paper on structural and functional characterisation of OmpM, the predominant outer membrane tethering system in Terrabacteria, is now out!
Great collaboration between @sgribaldo.bsky.social Christophe Beloin @sykhalid.bsky.social and Bert van den Berg groups.

Iron-Sulfur clusters are essential protein co-factors in eukaryotes and are synthesized in mitochondria and plastids by ISC and SUF systems. Can we use these machineries to investigate the origins of organelles? Happy to share our short report out today! #MicroSky
