Yes, you make an excellent point! Running at massive scale, and burning through investment dollars is a great way for people to feel good about every thought and feeling they have!

Word I’ll have to check it out. I assume all the anti cheat stuff still doesn’t run on this? I unfortunately play LuLz with friends and it saddens me.

Also now that we have some LLM help. It might not be unfeasible as an impassioned gamer to contribute to Linux in whatever way to help bring games over to Linux :)

Wow. Thanks for sharing this. Between this and the uprise in the gaming community about them removing windows 10 support. Maybe we’ll see a true Linux gaming desktop distro release. Thankfully steamos/steam is making great strides with proton etc etc to make this more of a reality.

Fun fact: Linux allows file names to be any byte sequence except / and the null character. You can also mix character encodings in the same directory

#!/usr/bin/env bash
prefix="$(dd if=/dev/urandom bs=128 count=1)"
touch “$(printf ‘%s\n%s’ “you can’t hurt me I’m already dead” “$prefix”)”

End-to-end encryption for the contents of your communication are great, but never forget that metadata matters.

This is your regular reminder that government mandated backdoors for end-to-end encrypted comms are bullshit, make everyone less safe, and should be resisted at maximum volume.

As a Linux noob I am none the wiser I guess lol. Is cruft specific to WSL or is that just a general Debian thing?

Also yeah vs code integration is pretty nice :)

And yeah, bare metal “native” shell is what I guess you mean right? :) (sorry for the dumb questions)

What’s not usable about it out of curiosity? I just began trying to use it for a more devops workflow atm but moving into next.js/node dev work (sadly)
