April 30/30 - Prompt the First Reasons for Required Maintenance at the Sadness Factory Assembly line clogged with magnolia blossoms The foreman dreamed of an orange Corvette A perfect cup of coffee was found tucked into the gears of the mourning-shaper For days the wailing machine spun mothers' lullabies instead
Happy National Poetry Month! Here's my first #April3030 prompt (I'll use this hashtag throughout the month)
Imagine a factory that, in various strange and surreal ways, manufactures sadness. Now write a poem cataloguing reasons for required maintenance at the sadness factory.
Be weird!
This poem demonstrates mastery to me. I love it.
Find beauty where you can.
A poem I return to often, by @mayacpopa.bsky.social.

This rainbow appeared over the ocean as the rain moved in. I hiked 7.6 miles and got absolutely soaked by the storm. 100% worth it.
That late-winter light. Dang.
Working hard to befriend the neighborhood murder of crows. Leaving them unshelled peanuts each day, hoping they will do my bidding by springtime.
Wishing you all some peace today. 💙
So incredibly thrilled to have a poem in the new issue of Bayou Magazine.
I return to this @toddedillard.bsky.social poem again and again.
To cleanse the timeline.
I always have a handful of stories and poems in progress. I like being able to jump between them, tap into these different worlds, different characters. I just dove back into a short story I started a few years ago—and found my way into a new scene. Sometimes it feels like magic.
I’ve been plodding along on this novella for [redacted], but tonight was the first time in a while I read through all 50 pages. And, honestly, damn: It’s pretty good.
One of my favorite poems published in Frigg Magazine.
Love the gloaming.
For my late-night friends: A new poem in the latest issue of @ballastjournal.bsky.social.

Morning walk message.
Good morning.
Hoping to see y’all there. 🧡
I have literally received three rejections in the last two hours. Is today a clear-the-queue day or something?!
Current state of affairs.
