L.A. City Council backs $30 minimum wage for hotel and LAX workers in 2028 Workers struggling with higher expenses called the wage proposal a matter of survival. Business owners warned they would scale back operations or shut down.

The Los Angeles City Council has approved raising the minimum wage to $30/hr for the city’s hotel and airport workers by 2028.

The council voted 12-3 to raise the wage for the approximately 23,000 workers in these tourism industry positions.
