Or a YouTube URL in quotes instead of a filename/path (like in this example actually). But you might need yt-dlp and the hook for it in the mpv config file for that to work.

Got this to work using mpv with the command
mpv --no-config --vo=tct <filename>
„ #Linux let's you truly do anything you want with your Computer“
Me, doing truly anything I want with my computer, not because it makes sense, but just because I can:
#Discord disclosed a #DataBreach yesterday regarding a third-party customer service provider. Affected users are being emailed, so keep an eye on your emails. Changing passwords regularly isn't a bad idea though anyway, so if you use Discord, I'd recommend doing so.

But it's the public health experts who damage trust in science.
IT WAS ALWAYS A LIE.
A highlighted warning from the WolvenKit website reading that reads "Linux compatability works off of a combination of throwing things at the wall and dark magic. As such, we cannot guarantee stability when using Linux."
From the #WolvenKit install page for #Linux users. It's really gotten better, but this made me chuckle because it still feels so accurate, especially for #modding tools. Don't get me into the hassle of getting Mod Organizer 2 to run 😅 Props to Wolvenkit though, runs well through Proton! ☺️
Me standing in front of a camera next to the Mehrzweckhochhaus (MZH) of the University of Bremen being interviewed.
I was recently given the chance to talk about my experiences as queer, chronically ill, politically active person studying at @unibremen.bsky.social as a part of their COME AS YOU ARE campaign. I hope to see the university continue their inclusion efforts, especially when it comes to tuition costs.
We saw the storm brewing a mile away.

Also know that if your country has or might soon have a right-wing government (like many European countries, unfortunately), and they see this shit working in the US, they WILL absolutely try copying it. We're not safe because we're not in the US. We have to fight in solidarity, everywhere.
This is awful, and deserves to be condemned. As @dramypsyd.rmh-therapy.com herself points, these are methods straight out of the Nazi playbook. I stand by all my fellow neurodivergent peeps in the US, even if I'm far away. I will not be quiet when they first came, and neither should anyone else

Pressed for time? Try walking (or any other activity).
In people with low activity "...an hour’s walk could add an impressive 6 hours to life."
Comparing the least to highest activity group resulted in 11 more years of life.

If you work at the Washington Post, now is the time to resign. You’re a part of this now.
I've been fearing something like this would happen. We should be trying a European or otherwise multi-national alternative to make sure the most important medical research databases aren't only US gov. controlled or based there anymore.

This reminds me of all the shorts starting with the “do you want to get women” clip into and cut to you dryly replying “no thank you” and talking about code. That had me cackling every time.
That perspective is truly cursed.

chart showing groups of opposition to Trump. Broad groups for lawsuits are Blue states, labour organisations, civil rights organisations, NGOs. Then there is a separate group for international rsponse and another one for non lawsuit response. A table of all actions is available here with any oppoistion highlighted: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1LZN7QnbSyFfUZJG8Sn1MWpK0VnfBtb0OSyZ1jxP3xBk/edit?usp=sharing (worksheet "Actions with links")
🧵Who is opposing the Trump administration?
I analysed 76 actions of the administration since inauguration and then searched for *meaningful* opposition to each.
I grouped the types of opposition and considered what we can learn from both them & actions where opposition has been lacking 1/24
A selfie (from the shoulder/neck up) of me wearing a comfortable green hoodie looking tired. In the background is my very scattered desk and two monitors showing documents and a video of a past ContraPoints stream playing on YouTube.
It's 4 AM. I'm working on Uni stuff, with no end in sight before the morning dawns. There is a ContraPoints Morrowind stream VOD keeping me company. Around me, there is chaos. Inside me, there is a yearning for success.
You know, a normal Monday night during the exams phase.
I know that "the year of the Linux desktop" is a bit of a meme, and I wouldn't say that year has come (or perhaps will ever come) for everyone using a computer. But for very many people, I am confident to say that the year to give the Linux desktop a try is definitely upon us.
Some things are still a bit inconvenient due to things I need for uni, work or my social life not being available aside from a web interface. It's not the Linux community's fault that WhatsApp and MS Office aren't available natively. Those are anti-consumerist choices by Meta and Microsoft.
I've become incredibly grateful for the people who maintain everything that makes Linux and the entire FOSS ecosystem around it possible, voluntarily. These people seriously know their stuff, and have been very helpful whenever I had questions.
I had used Ubuntu before - like 10 years ago for 1.5 years, and even that was way more of a hassle than being on the unstable branch of an Arch-based rolling release distro now. And I haven't had any major bugs, in comparison to back then.
I first installed @manjaro.bsky.social as a dual-boot on my Windows laptop at the end of November of last year, intending it to be a hobby project to get into #Linux again and try out something else than Windows. In that time, it's turned into my main daily driver.
