It’s the time of year for mentioning one of my favourite ‘untranslatables’.
‘Poronkusema’, in Finnish, once denoted a distance of around 7.5km, which is roughly how long a reindeer can last before needing to urinate. ‘Poronkusema’ means ‘reindeer pee’.

One thing I find interesting about the echo chamber complaint is that an echo chamber just won a presidential election.
Put aside the convo of whether it’s “good” or “bad” for a moment. The far right has devoted enormous resources + time to building echo chambers & loathes spaces they don’t control
When all the undocumented immigrants are in concentration camps or deported, what then?
Will construction project go un finished? Will crops rot in the fields? Will prices rise. Will families be separated? Will students be notified that their parents won’t be picking them up after school?
There’s a narrative that Gaetz was a deliberate head-fake — a distraction to boost the real candidate — but I am always suspicious of narratives that attribute four-dimensional chess to trump as opposed to knocking over the table and eating the checkers.
I think Bondi will be confirmed but she provides the perfect vehicle to expose her and Trump:
1) Foreclosure fraud
2) Payoff re Trump U
3) Impeachment 1
4) Big Lie
5) Qatar and other influence peddling
I'm missing a few.
Anyway, a good vehicle to make it clear what the Republican party is.
