Some videogames are games. Chess is not a toy. "Games are toys" is so reductive that it is outright wrong.

Every time I see the word "sapiosexual" I have to do a double take. In "homosexual" and "heterosexual" the first word of the compound is greek and the second derives from Latin. "Sapio" in sapiosexual derives from Latin but the word also exists in Greek where it means "rotten".

I was left behind by Bungie like 15 years ago. In their first Destiny presentation they had some forced banter about the "sweet loot" they picked up while showing their upgrade trees. I thought the internet was going to obliterate them. Instead they heaped boatloads of money on them.

This is my first portrait. I wonder if people can tell who it is supposed to be.

They have been such a destructive force for the industry in the last couple of years that they don't even have value as a foil for Playstation to keep them in check. Difficult to predict what will happen afterwards.

The layoffs and the push to AI is also a MS thing and not specific to Xbox. I never liked Microsoft but I liked Xbox in the past (more than Playstation and Nintendo). This is over now which is just as well because they will die and I won't care.

Xbox *had* to have an answer to Playstation plus and of course it had to be bigger, better and more bad ass because Xbox is part of Microsoft. The move from product to platform-agnostic services is a Microsoft strategy and the thing that let Nadella climb the ranks. It is not specific to Xbox.
