Help protect the most important fish you've never heard of. Everyone depends on menhaden—dolphins, whales, game fish, and us.

🦑🌎UPDATE: LA Rep. Orgeron (sponsor of the pro-menhaden bills) wrote me to ask for your help. IF YOU VOTE IN LOUISIANA & care about the Gulf, email him at jorgeron@legis.la.gov with “MENHADEN” in the subject line & let him know. That helps him make the case. Good science is key, but it’s not enough.

Interior recombines BOEM, BSSE into MMA The U.S. Department of the Interior said April 3 that it is combining functions of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management and the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement into the Marine Minerals...

🦑🌎This is pretty insane. The federal offices in charge of offshore oil safety (BSSE) and offshore oil permitting (BOEM) have potentially conflicting interests. That’s why their tasks were separated after the BP Oil Spill, one of the largest environment disasters in our history!

A Super El Niño is coming, which means a big risk of heatwaves, the biggest killer of all disasters in the US. I'm trying to get FEMA to take this more seriously. See below.

Actually, Hawai'i. But, yes, CA has very high electricity rates. Much of that, I think comes from the passing on of infrastructure-upgrade costs in response to wildfire. Not gonna defend PG&E. System is definitely broken.

US to pay almost $1bn to French energy company to kill wind project plan Trump administration announces deal with TotalEnergies to redirect investment to oil and gas

Let me get this straight: While Germany is buying out coal operators to clean the air, Trump is buying out offshore wind operators to pollute the air. 🌏🦑

Guest Column: Louisiana residents and Congress must remain vigilant when it comes to EPA cuts Gutting the EPA’s was stymied once by Congress. Now, the agency needs to do its job, especially for the health of Louisianans., argues Loyola University law professor Rob Verchick.

I have a new op-ed out about the terrible beating EPA is taking—from POTUS and the agency’s political leadership. An agency I was once so proud and grateful to serve.

“If [Congress doesn’t] step up, then the EPA will step back, and Americans will be on their own when facing toxic pollution.”
