Two weeks in to Acting Assistant Head post and I'm walking a very steep learning curve! Seeing the school from a different angle is fascinating. Lots of firsts, lots of learning but I'm still smiling. I miss my form and my old department far more than anticipated though. #SLTnewbie

Ooh I'm taking notes for next week! I'm stepping up to senior leadership as AHT and I'm also a part time doctoral student and single Mum. I need more stuff like this on my feed!!
I can't believe it's nearly the end of the holidays! π₯² I've gone from binge watching #LoveisBlindUK (and loving it) to planning my first INSET segments as Assistant Head today. Scary stuff! Would appreciate any tips from those who have jumped from HoD to SLT and lived to tell the tale!
Oh! It's too beautiful for words!
lol - same, Claire!!
Congratulations to your son! My daughter also received her results today - I swear it's more stressful awaiting your child's results than it was awaiting our own!
Was more anxious for my daughter receiving her GCSE results today than I was for my own, 24 yrs ago π¬. She smashed it though!
But can we talk more about capped pt scores? Hadn't heard about them till today when applying for her 6th form of choice. Had to Google & even then had to trawl through info

Staying up till the early hours binge watching #LoveisBlindUK with my daughters and neice has been one of the best evenings of the summer holidays!
Oh, I hope so too!

I'm here and I have no idea what I'm doing! Would love to connect with the great education and children's lit folk I've followed on that other platform!
