Less than one year after shoving through their Big Ugly Bill, House Republicans wasted floor time to shine a turd by changing its name instead of addressing inequality created by decades of their regressive tax policies. Here are the true beneficiaries of this corporate handout:

On Jackie Robinson Day, we celebrate the ballplayer, the soldier, the trailblazer, and the patriot who broke the color barrier and forced this nation to confront its conscience. We must continue to tell the full story of America to give the next generation the courage to keep pushing forward.
The deadline for the Congressional Art Competition is closing in this Friday, April 17th!

As inequality is on the rise, and our youth are facing unprecedented challenges, it was wonderful to join
@casten.house.gov in seeing what the amazing staff and volunteers of The Bridge Teen Center are doing to create safe spaces for youth to grow mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Pope Leo is from Chicago, and he won’t let any unhinged rant stop him from speaking truth to power. Trump has no ceasefire deal, no strategy in the Middle East, and no concept of a plan to alleviate the escalating cost of living issues facing Americans.
I spoke to @cbschicago.bsky.social this morning about Trump's proposed military draft. Hegseth’s Pentagon purge of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the High Brass has removed leaders of the highest caliber without any public clarity. It's time to remove Hegseth.
50 years of "trickle-down" economics have created record levels of income inequality. Rather than an economy based on exploitation, we must create a collaborative economy which promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion. We must close the wage gap so all of us can thrive
What a nation chooses to fund speaks to what it values and the future it envisions for its people. Trump wants to spend TRILLIONS on war while dismantling diplomacy and robbing working families of essential programs.
Cuts to these programs do not balance the ledger and only break promises.
100 years of Leo High School history meets the technology of the future. Great to be at Leo High School for the unveiling of the brand-new STEM center dedicated to them! Huge thanks to the Cal Ripken Sr Foundation and Calvin Butler at Exelon for their commitment to our youth.
The world stands witness as Trump announces his intent to commit war crimes so casually. Republicans continue to enable this illegal, reckless escalation by refusing to stand for Congress’ Constitutional responsibility to rein in unchecked power.
@jayapal.house.gov and I went on a Congressional delegation to Cuba to see firsthand the damage done by the U.S. fuel blockade.
Our full statement below.
In her brief time as Attorney General, we witnessed Bondi conceal the truth from the public to protect her reputation among MAGA loyalists.
While her removal is a net positive, she must continue to be held accountable for the damage she's caused in mishandling the Epstein Files.
Trump's Iran war is forcing farmers to pay more or plant less. Both are bad options, and both will increase your food costs.
House Ag Democrats are demanding answers.
Trump has told people to depend on him to solve the affordability crisis; meanwhile, we are spending billions of dollars per day on his war of choice against Iran.
I had the honor of discussing everything from the value of agriculture technology to drinking water needs to faith with the First Lady of Kenya Rachel Ruto. Our nations have deep ties and should continue to increase our partnership rooted in our shared ideals.
Mrs. Bettye Jean Mason Odom was so many things- an accomplished actress, model, television host, author, entrepreneur, and educator. But most of all, she was a trailblazer whose recent passing marks the loss of a visionary leader and beloved pillar of the Chicago community.
With issues of war, hunger, and healthcare on the line, the administration is prioritizing suing a Coca Cola bottler for daring to have a two-day event for women. As Women's History Month comes to a close, we acknowledge that the fight for progress has never been more important.
Hegseth blocked Black and female officers, who have served our country for decades, from a one-star promotion. His racist and misogynistic policies are dragging down our national security at a time when Trump is unilaterally increasing our threat levels on multiple fronts.
I provided testimony to @democrats-appropriations.house.gov RM @frankel.house.gov and Chair Diaz-Balart for FY27 NatSec/State Member Day calling out @secrubio.govpeeps.us for letting millions of dollars in medicine expire rather than support the most vulnerable women around the world.
I provided testimony before the FY27 Subcommittee that used to be in charge of global aid and development, not only as a legislator, but as a witness to a moment in our nation’s history where those in power no longer strive to prevent war or promote peace and prosperity for all.
Eid Mubarak! As Ramadan comes to a close, I wish all who celebrate in IL01 and beyond a joyous Eid al-Fitr! Take this time to come together and celebrate life's many gifts, and renew your hope and joy for the future
As Muslims around the world gather today to celebrate Eid, I am proud to recognize Kamran Khan. Arriving in the U.S. at 18, he helped pave the way for the first White House Eid celebration in 1996.
Attention all students 7th through 12th grade in IL01!

Today we celebrate everything that Irish culture brings to Chicago, especially the South Side Irish community. Enjoy responsibly and support the local bars, restaurants, and small businesses that make IL01 such a vibrant place to live and visit
I joined @repyassansari.bsky.social, @sarajacobs.house.gov, and my fellow Democrats demanding transparency from Pete Hegseth on what lead to the horrific killing of 175 civilians- mostly little girls - at a school in Iran.
Keeping in our thoughts everyone impacted by the severe weather that swept through the Chicago-area and Kankakee County last night. Follow guidance from local officials. Visit Ready Illinois for one-stop resource for detailed disaster assistance.

Liberator of more than 70 enslaved people, nurse, Army spy, advocate for the rights of African Americans, and champion of women's suffrage, Harriet Tubman became an ancestor on this day in 1913. We owe so much to her vision, tenacity, and love of freedom, family, and faith. #WomensHistoryMonth
I voted YES on the War Powers Resolution because Congress cannot relinquish it's constitutional duty, the Trump administration shouldn't get a blank check for another endless war, and the American people must be heard.
Freedom of speech. Freedom of the press. And even the right to keep and bear arms. These are not partisan gifts; they are Constitutional promises which the Trump administration has trampled. When any administration chills dissent and punishes truth, democracy itself is wounded.
This is what erasure looks like. The Trump administration tore down a memorial honoring people enslaved by George Washington because truth makes them uncomfortable. You don’t defend history by deleting its victims. That’s cowardice, not patriotism.
