To those mid-tier bands that complained so much about piracy in the '90s, are you better off with streaming and almost no piracy than you were with physical media sales and some piracy?
My friends in the music industry tell me the '90s with piracy was a far better deal for writers and performers.

No worries. But Iβll check out the article just the same! π
I've made the trek a few times. Once at the RR, a man quietly walked up to me and handed me a blue rose, nodded, and quietly walked away.

I need another trip to the Great Northern and the RR. It's been too long.
36 years ago today, David Lynch, Mark Frost and Angelo Badalamenti changed everything.
I remember that very well. Surreal. The DJ played Drink Before the War by Sinead O'Connor.
The risk right now is that we have a well-studied ECC primitive thatβs made it through decades of attacks, and a relatively new primitive that so far appears to be quantum-resilient, plus an unknown risk that quantum matters. If weβre not doing hybrid then the risk seems higher to me.
Cisco, IBM, and the data center lobby is trying to kill an *already existing* right to repair law in Colorado by massively fearmongering lawmakers into exempting their tech under the guise of "security" of "critical infrastructure"

This morning's wake up call was a good reminder that sometimes we just need to enjoy the good things when they're happening :)
There is an entire industry designed to distract enterprises from deploying FIDO authentication. Why solve the problem when you can "manage" it with "risk informed decision frameworks" that require bespoke products and don't really work? πΈ ποΈ

I just put an AI system inside another AI system and I need to build another AI to monitor the token usage of the other AIs and I'm going to regret this credit card bill aren't I.
Wearing a mask is such a simple way to protect your health in crowded indoor spaces, especially high-risk places like hospitals. It still blows me away how many people would rather get sick over & over again & potentially get long-term health issues from COVID & more, rather than wear a simple mask.

My Lenovo may be the best laptop I've had with only two smallish gripes: The color balance on my external monitor is a bit off, and since it's an Arm chip, I have to compile Signal myself and I can't get attachments to work. But really it's great otherwise.
You had me at "Chromebook"!
