Far be it from me to catastrophise anything in life, I’ve the cat’s carrier at the front door in case we need to evacuate, I’ve bungie corded the wheelie bins down, I have towels on each dodgy window seal… Storm Eowyn is probably laughing at me right now. 🇮🇲 ⛈️

Trying to pull myself out of a mental hole by learning a new language; 17 days of Japanese so far has been such fun, really love getting that part of my brain active again and gotta say, I’m not half bad already.

Under so much stress at the moment that I might combust; my physical and mental health is in the bin, was meant to take S to Ireland yesterday so he could fly to SA with his sister for a month but new diagnosis = waiting on an urgent Liverpool referral before he can leave - the hell persists.

Laundry on, have mopped tiles and vacuumed, baked a banana bread - now back to the warmth of my bed until this weather sorts itself out (I don’t need to be anywhere for 36 long hours). ❄️ 🇮🇲

S overslept our arrangements this morning - the internal negotiation I undergo every time this happens between ‘His brain is recovering, he needs the sleep’ and ‘Is he dead? Do I need to go and check?’
Pic of cat because she was feeling cute last night.

Advocating for yourself in medical situations is SO important; had we not pushed for more extensive genetic blood tests, S diagnosis and cause of brain injury would’ve been missed.
I don’t blame his Dr, it happens when cost cutting becomes a priority, but a reminder to speak up when needed.

Holy moly it’s frosty out there.
14.4km / 9 miles today but I pulled a muscle in my calf a few km in so most of it was spent hobbling back to a hot bath. 🇮🇲 🥶 ☀️ 🐑

Phew that walk HURT, not pushing distances lately has my spine in a mess.
Still pleased with 18.5km / 11.5 miles though, and such a gorgeous winter day for it. 🎄 🇮🇲 ☀️

So much lifting tonight, half of them spent more time in the air than the dancefloor 😥 #strictly

And then… with creaking of floor boards in the dead of the night… she appeared from the darkness… WITH THE VACUUM CLEANER! ☠️ 😟 🔥 😳

Love my ex in a sibling sort of way but when he starts spouting about how Elon Musk is such a great guy and deeply misunderstood and Joe Rogan podcaster is the best in the biz, I REALLY hope it’s brain damage and I didn’t actually marry this version of the man.

A long but really interesting day in Liverpool yesterday that helped S with answers re. his initial injury and surgery, and information to help manage his expectations 🧠 And some Christmas shopping 😎

I might be alone in this opinion but Danny does nothing for me, I’ve found him quite self involved in what we’ve been shown, and I’ll be pretty disenchanted if he wins this malarkey #ImACeleb

Just turned my TV on for the first time in 5 WEEKS to settle in for a wet stormy weekend on the sofa with a new creative project. It’s been years since I cross stitched.

Part of my condition (ankylosing spondylitis) is fusing of the vertebrae; last scans showed my lumbar area is nuked solid, so whhhhyy has my lower spine been clicking like a Bic pen for weeks?! PT hasn’t been able to click my back in years and now every movement = that sweet sweet spinal relief.
