We finally got ours and went with a Toyota BZ. I freaking love it.

We'll swap out my husband's vehicle once solid state is a thing but for now we mostly just use the BZ for everything.

We got it in before all the credits were gone. We had been saving for a while now but I gotta say, the price of gas isnt the thing keeping me up.

Also I went from an 11yr old ford focus with a crap transmission to a BZ. It's down right luxurious.

Keeping this list handy so I can remember who not to give my money to.

If you paid even a penny in federal income tax last year, you paid more than:

Tesla
Southwest
Disney
Live Nation
HP
United
PayPal
CVS Health
Palantir
Citigroup
PG&E
3M

That's right. They paid $0 in federal income tax.

It's time for big corporations to pay their fair share.

Oh I happen to have the pointy eared fluffy variation

Oh no! As a fellow ex-lab nerd, I can't imagine bench work without music. I got busted singing and dancing so many times it was an ongoing joke.

I was in biology and cell culture was my place to put on a concert at 7am before people showed up. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Im also intrigued and have so many questions:
Can they not find poetry in the lyrics?
Do they also hate poetry?

What other things do they detest that are generally found as joyful?
Are other art forms also beneath them?

Medication doesnt make you less or reliant, it makes you smart for figuring out how to beat biology and improve your quality of life.

As a scientist who works on new medications for cancer: we create medications to give people a better life.

Our bodies weren't meant to live this long, the medicines we create are not a crutch, but a tool to live longer, & we devote our lives to give people more time to live their best lives.

Unless its a 0% APR loan - then you invest the money instead.

I begrudgingly just bought a new car when my 11yr old transmission started going out. I was going to pay cash, but 0% APR technically is a better deal.

But I dont think younger generations are doing this as much. My nephews are so much like my boomer parents when it comes to understanding how to get the best price for things.

Seems like a good opportunity to figure out who these terrorists are and their communities can be aware ostracize them.

While I agree with you, this isnt possible for quite a large number of people- and tbh that in and of itself is a problem.

My partner's gas vehicle is only 8yrs old so we expect that it will last until solid state is the norm, especially bc we use the EV mostly.

He only uses his like 2-3 a month just to keep it running. I know it's a privilege to be able to switch but I didn't realize how much I would love it.

Love this - also on solar and part of why we switched when the old car finally became unfix-able.

We would have switched to EV sooner but the car was running and I'm a big fan of using things until they're not usable anymore.

I dont think we'll ever buy a gas car again.

Same - they tried to talk me out of it. Then after I bought what I wanted they couldn't figure out how to charge it πŸ˜’πŸ™„

My car was nearly 12yrs old w a terrible transmission. This EV is a dream and I'm so happy.

We dont- & even less on epigentics.

I study cancer genetics & my friend is a child psychologist so we talk a lot about this. The paucity of data is overwhelming.

She would argue that environment is a bigger driver of presentation & I argue the opposite but I think there's a lot of bias there πŸ˜‚

EXACTLY this 100%

Yes I think you are correct - and I do believe autism is a spectrum with many different presentations (likely driven by both genetic diversity and childhood development environment differences)

This - I have to remember to not let it force me back into old feelings of powerlessness and it sucks so much. I thought I had gotten out of this.

My home was unstable but I dont think either is truly a malignant narcissist like him. My FIL, though, is 100%.

It's re-opened up shit for both my husband and I, so I hear you. Idk if it helps, but you're not alone and for me I remind myself I'm no longer under that control and I have autonomy.

Made the switch last year before the incentives disappeared. Solar on the house and an EV. Started saving during the first round of this.

My understanding is her hypothesis is that late vs early Dx is driven by different forms of autism.

I disagree with this. I dont think this factors in the home. One parent may notice developmental disabilities that arent as obvious and one parent may not notice big differences.

As a researcher in a very different biological field, her conclusion in no way seems to considers the variable of environment.

9/10 in biology the answer is it's probably both variables (biology and environment) contributing to the Dx timeline.

As journalists i would think you know words matter.

Many of the victims were not young women they were girls - young girls.

Calling girls "young women" only makes these crimes seem less vile.

Do better.

Everything we're raised to be makes us vulnerable to these predators.

The undoing of the internalized misogyny takes time.

For me the first step was moving away and getting an advanced education. But not to be underestimated, getting physically strong and capable of defending myself helps too.
