i checked this today and its still true
I am proud to announce that starting today we are going to be dumping toxic waste into The Holy Pond That Literally Cures Cancer
If you have an interest in Medievalism, and its impact/presence in TTRPG's this video is a GREAT deep dive with a bunch of experts that I was lucky enough to be invited too.

if the world wasn't on fire we would be studying this guy on a petri dish to understand how it is even possible to generate an anti charisma field of this magnitude, he might be the first mutant
God I hate this genre. These kids who protested Gaza got arrested, expelled, beaten up, doxxed, lives ruined by outside agitators and were utterly betrayed by the administrations that should have protected them at any cost. Shut the fuck up.
There's something a bit poignant about a Bluetooth device failing to connect to another device right next to it when they're the only Bluetooth devices for hundreds of thousands of kilometres around.
Its a joke for like 3 people max, the word is super rare and late antique rather than classical Latin, but given Tolkien's interest in the migration period I bet he'd have come across it
Since I learned about the term, I feel like Tolkien was specifically thinking of the late antique word "bucellarius" (lit. "biscuit-eater) which referred to the personal guards and retinues of powerful late roman generals - campaigning soldiers literally defined by their food! A joke within the joke
This also goes for TTRPG supplements and works.
We're all creatives here. I don't care how "woe is artless me" you think you think you are.
We're all fighting the same battles here.
Its not even that hard to find public domain art for ttrpgs! Basically every 5 dollar budget osr game has done this! You only "need" fancy art in a modern style if you're trying to emulate the WotC-D&D high fantasy style, which is less interesting than using wacky fencing manual art from 1600 anyway
OGRE CAMPAIGNING ON PLATFORM OF INCLUSION, INCREASED SOCIAL SPENDING, AND CRUNCHING BONES OF BILLIONAIRES
LETS GO! been waiting for a campaign to buy Nebulous, glad to hear it's coming along
the overwhelming and unfortunate truth is that high level uni admins are run by business school dropouts and people who couldn't hack it in "real" business. Its no wonder that when they try to run the university "like a business" they're no good at that either!
what if i said that the "matriarchy" myth is a colonial construction used to justify eurocolonial patriarchy ("agrarian matriarchies evolve into industrial patriarchies") and the egalitarian indigenous political formations that existed simply had a weak-to-irrelevant gendered division of labour
this is so comically hamhanded it has a real chance of boosting Kat over the finish line in what is an incredibly close primary
there’s a lot of bad money floating around elections but some of it is very stupid
Lgbtq+ rights are a winning issue. The queer community are a major pillar of the democratic base. The democrats Abandoning them would do nothing but ensure a republican victory.
The wizard eats some pretzels.
Quick question does anyone know how to restore virtue to a decaying society
The little cat steps on the wizard's head, waking him up. He goes to make waffles with passionfruit jam and put some fish out for the little cat. As he makes tea, the air fills with the smell of parchment. The wizard reads the new issue of Magic-Users Weekly as he eats his breakfast.
"Mustum playa videogameus" translated as "Must play videogames" by Google Translate.
The funniest thing about modern AI-powered Google Translate is that it will interpret any fake-sounding Latin
When you stare into a manuscript and the manuscript stares into you
If 4,000 coal miners had to move we literally would never hear the end of it
was epstein uniquely responsible for evil or is he just the one obscenely wealthy person whose emails we're getting to read
I find takes like this unsatisfying because they ignore the point of the Nazi analogy. It's not about denying America's history of racist terror. "Nazi" is not just code for "bad but in a way that specifically doesn't implicate US antecedents." www.bostonglobe.com/2026/01/26/o...
This was just me making this comparison yesterday, but today the Korean news is calling Minnesota "America's Gwangju" and have human rights lawyers explaining how America is now living through the dictatorship Korea once had.
