Desktop computers that you can still enforce your will on as to what they do and what they are not allowed to do are the only computers that should exist. The black-boxing of computers into unrepairable, un-upgradeable toys like iPads/Chromebooks has harmed our ability to problem-solve for ourselves

Yeah. It's called being a dad
These people deserve defenestrating out a window
wtf
There’s only one elegant solution to this problem of increasingly stupid audiences, and that’s to mandate that every film ends with a closing rap song that lays out all the moral lessons of the movie. There will be a government office that reviews the songs for aural and pedagogical value.
The real theme of the modern age is "Nobody Wants This". AI, ICE in airports, ICE in general, the Iran War, data centers sending actual cities wiht people into blackouts -- "nobody" wants this. And yet here we are.
I was asked to give my thoughts on generative AI usage in games - here they are!
It's been a while (this is entirely our fault) but we have a new Pie in the Skybox comic from @madsmatic.bsky.social
Check it out:
Please support @skyboxcritics.com
@edgarallanbro.bsky.social @hokutolucas.bsky.social @kriscornelisse.bsky.social and I work SO MANY unpaid hours to make everything Skybox work
All because we believe Skybox is what the industry needs
Please help us by subscribing on patreon.com/skyboxcritics 💟
Hey, let's talk about money and @skyboxcritics.com, because unless you're one of the big indie outlets, money's hard:
Right now, Skybox makes about $180 a month from our Patreon. That's it. That's not a lot! In fact, it doesn't cover our operating costs! Skybox has never made a profit. Ever. 🧵
Beyond the Skybox episode 5 is available on demand! Patreon, Apple, Spotify!
We talk about remakes and run the full discourse gamut! What we think is good or not good about remakes, what's the difference between remakes and remasters, so on, so forth!

"Talent is a dull knife that will cut nothing unless it is wielded with great force... Discipline and constant work are the whetstones upon which the dull knife of talent is honed until it becomes sharp enough to cut through even the toughest meat and gristle."
I've been meaning to print this out and post it above my writing desk.
From Stephen King's DANSE MACABRE: creative talent is a knife.
(It's a very Stephen King sort of analogy, and this is from deep within his cocaine years. Even so, this thought has never left me in 30 years.)
being an artist is just decades of going "ugh I wish I knew how to draw" over and over again until you die

Wait, is this comic about genAI
If it doesn't stand on two feet, how will the furries know it's OK to fuck it
A news post from Sunday; can you assist with some word of mouth audience building assistance?
Once you start, be consistent. Just show up everyday
Badlands, Frankenstein, Wake Up Dead Man, Nosferatu, Train Dreams, Sinners, pretty good
It is my personal mission to make people put the respect on UNDERWATER's name that it deserves. This should've been a #horror megahit, I deep-dive (heh) into why.

Gonna try to do something new this year. Gonna combine something I would be doing anyway-- watching movies and reviewing 'em-- with something I'd really like to be doing more of on the regular-- drawing.
So first up, here's something about Death of A Unicorn (2025)
Sickness slowed me down, but I've got a new post up on my indie-gaming newsletter. This week, I've been playing Heart Machine's POSSESSOR(S):
RT if you've never had a tab of ChatGPT open 'just to do quick research'
