Healing happens in relationships, in self-compassion & in small steps forward

🧵1/7 Following on from yesterday’s post, adoptive parents often carry an invisible weight, managing trauma, advocating for support, and constantly adjusting to meet their child’s needs. But I wanted to add that when the system fails, that weight doesn’t just disappear.

Last week my MA Education: SEND students were encouraged to contribute to an online discussion to explore the question

Why does the prevalence of our children and young people's SEMH needs appear to continually rise?

Looking forward to collaboratively engaging with their responses

I was really impressed with their research and suggestions for policy change!
