Best testimony on data centers I've seen yet. Worth your 4 minutes.

DOGE was foolish and reckless, playing with people's lives snd livelihoods. They need to be self accountable. Take action!
This is sooooo good. Listen up!
The #GreatOhioClimateMarch sounds like lots and lots of fun, and a source of real power!

This is not lets-propose-this-and-see-what-Congress-says. Their plan is more like USAID: eliminate before Congress can weigh in.
Wide Amsterdam street jammed with colourful cars in the 1970s.
Remember this picture, & others like it, every time you hear someone in your city say "we're not Amsterdam."
This was #Amsterdam in the 1970s.
Many of the cities we admire made tough choices regarding cars in the past, and are still making better choices today.
Better choices instead of excuses.
we'll see how it shakes out over the course of years, but as of right now, mamdani is definitely showing how the future of good progressive governance means "use government to do good things and then post about it"
both parts are important!
You could have had free universal healthcare this entire time. The money was always there.
In 2025, PUCO approved 2,000 MW of behind-the-meter power and received applications for 2,755 MW of traditional natural gas-operating facilities.

People don't camp out at a state park to see the glow from frack wells. This is not compatible with the use of the park.
On this day of celebration, let us abandon every desire for conflict, domination, and power, and implore the Lord to grant his peace to a world ravaged by wars and marked by a hatred and indifference that make us feel powerless in the face of evil. To the Lord we entrust all hearts that suffer and await the true peace that only he can give. Let us entrust ourselves to him and open our hearts to him! He is the only one who makes all things new (cf. Rev 21:5). Happy Easter!
“Easter is the victory of life over death, of light over darkness, of love over hatred.”

As a matter of fact I never have seen this before, and I hope I never do again.
The biggest story in the world right now is that the president of the United States is a demented old man who takes pleasure in torturing and killing people and is committing crimes with impunity. And yet most legacy media outlets are too cowardly to tell it like it is.

Recently I've had two conversations with a prominent reporter who doesn't understand when he's being fed oil industry propaganda. I tried to explain what the consensus of science is. You might as well question gravity as sow doubt about climate change.
In 2022, Gov. DeWine said he wanted Ohio state parks to be best in the nation.
In 2023, he fracked them-- along with wildlife areas, ODOT rights-of-way, even a prison. @andrewkingcbus.bsky.social @axios.com: bit.ly/41GOwXq

A Save Ohio Parks billboard is up at Wheeling Avenue next to the All for Kids Daycare in Cambridge. It's 17 miles from Salt Fork State Park in Lore City. Salt Fork is the midpoint for Third Act Ohio's "Great Ohio Climate March," to be held May 16-18. Registration is underway until April 16 to hike from Athens to Salt Fork and Columbus, viewing pristine rural Ohio landscapes along with polluting fracking and data center infrastructure along the way. Geophysicists say there is an increased risks of destructive floods and wild fires due to climate change. A guy who thinks he was teleported to a Waffle House says there's nothing to worry about. For busy Americans, it can be hard to know who to trust.

Where did democracy go? It's MIA on the local, state, and national levels.
They look like they are 12.
Not sure if they are taking lessons from Ohio or if Ohio is taking lessons from them. Either way these lands belong to us and they are meant to be protected.
Since the closure of USAID an estimated 834,000 people lost their lives as a result of the loss of health assistance. USAID was also one of the largest contributors to conservation ($400m annually). This week on the podcast, Michelle Nijhuis @biographic.bsky.social details the situation a year on.
This is also a pretty standard right-wing tactic — to blame "the left" for the reactionary / authoritarian / anti-science positions the right espouses.
Saying scientists "allowed the science to get politicized" is also an abuser's excuse, as @rebeccasolnit.bsky.social notes: "she made me do it."
