Made very few changes to the latest build and was thinking maybe I'll be able to ship this one without incrementing the shame version (last number in a version number) and 2 minutes into testing, it's already getting bumped.

How Spring Boot Really Works (From a Core Engineer) - Moritz Halbritter | The Marco Show YouTube video by IntelliJ IDEA, a JetBrains IDE

I recorded an episode of the Marco Show with Marco Behler from JetBrains. It was an absolute pleasure, thanks for having me. We talked about a lot: how I ended up on the Spring team, Project Leyden, GraalVM, AI, and so much more. Also available as a podcast.

I'm sorry to hear this. I thought things might calm down in 2026, but that doesn't appear to be the case 😔

AI pretending to be customer support is a pretty miserable experience. I don't need something pretending to be human regurgitating the FAQ page.

It must also put a strain on the real support staff who now only get customers who are already angry from fighting a robot!

Fascinating how different minds function. I've find the extra blank lines add cognitive load because I can't easily tell where methods start and end and I can't see inner classes easily.

Imagine you're into cooking, then one day microwave meals are invented. Suddenly, all the cooking shows talk about are microwave meals. Magazines, books, ads and chefs pivot to microwave meals. Everyone will eat them and they'll be worth zillions!

Anyway, let's talk about AI

Fantastic work by me throwing coffee absolutely everywhere this morning!

The problem with a nice espresso machine is you need at least two coffees inside you before attempting to operate it 🤣
