Because I think “I promise“ has meaning like “I know good way to help u, pls let me do this” with some sort of affection.
I think 約束する is kinda business like. 信じて is more emotional and I feel affection in it vaguely

When I translate “I promise” into Japanese, I choose “信じて” instead of literal translation “約束する”
In Japanese, I think 信じて has more closer emotional meaning to “I promise “
