Did you watch it?
You're welcome. And it's streaming for free on a lot of platforms (YouTube, Pluto, Tubi, et al). I hope you enjoy it.
Yes! And it's good! I love how they shift to hand-drawn animation for sequences like the parables.
Have you seen The Miracle Maker? It's from 2000, but it's one of my favorite Jesus movies.
The Miracle Maker and Jesus of Montreal.
King Sorrow by Joe Hill.
I've been reading it since Christmas, but I just finally finished King Sorrow. Been a long time since I read such a great, doorstop epic like this. Five stars!
With the Easter eggs, I definitely read that as "Paas."
I finally saw it this weekend too!
Oh, man. You're in for something special.
I got to see Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom on the big screen today. It was the only Indy movie I had never seen theatrically. Perfect first theater visit for the year.
Having just read this recently, she makes a great point. Perfect for getting a jump start on your 2026 reading.
And now, the Rankin/Bass Christmas classic that dares to answer children’s questions about Santa Claus while illegally opening his mail.

I have had Guillotine by @delilahsdawson.bsky.social on my TBR stack since it was released. I picked it up last week and devoured it over the weekend. A quick, bloody, and brutal read. It's cathartic for these times.
I want to like Robert Zemeckis' A Christmas Carol more. It's got an epic feel, great score, and a pretty good adaptation. And while the people aren't Polar Express-level creepy, they're still too uncanny valley to fully enjoy the movie.
Rankin/Bass’s Avengers assembled in theaters in 1979. This movie opens with Rudolph’s shine blipping out of existence, and what happens to Frosty and his whole family is even worse.
Here’s an old podcast with @brandonmedley.bsky.social.
“Frosty’s Winter Wonderland” is the “Weird Science” of Christmas specials.

Nothing about “Rudolph’s Shiny New Year” makes sense, but that’s not a bug. It’s a feature.
Here’s an old podcast with @imgonnadj24.bsky.social & @brandonmedley.bsky.social.
Was Santa just hangry? Why was the doll on the Island of Misfit Toys? Why weren’t you at elf practice? These questions and more answered in this old podcast with @brandonmedley.bsky.social & @imgonnadj24.bsky.social.
This podcast is about a Christmas special narrated by Roger Miller so of course I had to go off about “hey remember the hampster dance”
And @ieatvideogames.bsky.social was there, and @brandonmedley.bsky.social was there…
The most metal Christmas special.
Today I’m sharing all our Rankin/Bass podcast episodes, starting with Episode 1, from 2017, with @brandonmedley.bsky.social.
I can hear my own nerves.
The Simpsons is 36 years old today.
Here’s an old podcast about the Christmas special I made sure not to miss in 1989, with @mserinmevans.bsky.social, @brandonmedley.bsky.social, & @imgonnadj24.bsky.social.
“The Small One,” from 1978, was Don Bluth’s last project for Disney, and it’s gorgeous.
Here’s a very old podcast about it with @ieatvideogames.bsky.social and @brandonmedley.bsky.social.
I had forgotten about doing this one.
Haha! I also had to go to bed when Cheers came on but got to stay up long enough to hear the song.
Amazing. Five stars. See it on the big screen if you can.
So which version did you end up going with?
