Sprites INC

There are some extreme complications with the situation, but we are hosting the site in an archive state at a new URL:

Asking for credit is an old hat move - we tell people it's an illogical demand. It's also pretty plain to recognise the original artists are the actual artists, as they come from the game they worked on.

Preview models are made individually and set up for viewing - when we introduced it several months ago, we had to create a preview for all the existing assets on the site. Dazz did this on his own, so not everything could be done by the time of launch but 80% was covered.

Just had some stock arrived for Debug Games Festival in 2 weeks - would you buy a Spriters Resource shirt or tote?

We opted for eco-friendly inks and base stock from a great local printer - no current plans to sell online, but if there is demand...

Gulliver - Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch Gulliver - Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch - Archiving and preserving video game media since 2003!

It took me longer than it should have to realise this wasn't a joke... It's literally the render from New Horizons we have on the site.

I went to the Animal Crossing event at the Sea Life centre today and it kinda sucked honestly.

They replaced last year's Gulliver plush with his thumbnail image on the Models Resource.

Not yet - I do plan to make one in the future though. It has been continually evolving for a while, but it's starting to take more permanent shape now, so I actually can do so.

These tools are not just free, but ad-free too - there is zero benefit to us for you to use them. We use them ourselves, and it's simply a case of not gatekeeping our own tools. It only makes sense that everyone should benefit from the effort.

The site's animation feature now supports APNG, providing more precise frame rates & alpha transparency! We also overhauled the underlying code that gives playback control. Excited to see more animations be uploaded!

We also now have a permanent link to The Spriters Toolkit in the sidebar!

(It's called a GIF creator, but it also saves apng too 🤔)

The Spriters Toolkit, previously Dazz's tSR Tools, offers a quick way of splitting sprite sheets into individual frames - which can also then be put into the built-in GIF creator to render animations, that can then subsequently be added to that asset page on the main site!

Cat's out the bag! That's the plan. Browsers now widely support controlling images, so we can add native browser support to split animations out -gif or apng- for analysis. Only Safari is lagging behind, but we can fall back on JavaScript to handle that.

Anti-aliasing support is the biggest thing!

We have plans to improve the animation aspect of Spriters Resource. We currently accept GIFs, but there are many limitations to the format that make it less useful for modern titles.

We're making good progress in our efforts! It should improve performance of animation playback quite dramatically.

HUGE thanks to VGHF for reaching out & taking this case seriously. We've dealt with false DMCAs around this for years, and despite our own investigation and approaching those involved, without legal representation we were ignored.

Cookie's Bustle will finally stop bringing us pain!

Apologies for mitigations we have to make to account for increased bot traffic. We've had a huge influx of traffic consistent with AI bots.

This is on top of regular user traffic having doubled over the past 6 months.

We don't have a large budget, as you can imagine, but we're doing our best!
