“When the man becomes more oppressive he only heightens revolutionary fervor. So if things get worse for oppressed people they will feel the need for revolution and resistance. The people make revolution; the oppressors, by their brutal actions, cause resistance by the people.”
I haven’t forgotten about the Epstein Files. I never will forget about the Epstein Files. Every single survivor deserves justice.
Leak the Epstein Files.
Officially less than 10% left in “Crime and Punishment” 😭😭 my current thought is that I feel more accomplished to have read it than happy that I did. It was fairly solid. The philosophical commentary was my favorite but quite a few parts dragged on with seemingly endless dialogue 😩

Abolish. ice. 💔
ICE has detained at least 3,800 kids under the second Trump administration — more than 500 of whom were under 5 years old.
Children shouldn't be locked up by our government.
I didn’t expect the change to be so abrupt and soon 😭 after 15 minutes of clicking not interested I’ve been able to see a semblance of my old algo, but idk how much longer I’m staying after today…
They’ve officially broken TikTok 😭😭 never in my life has my algorithm been this random and hateful… wym I get two transphobic videos back to back???
“I have seen the destruction of the daylight, and seen bloodthirsty maggots prayed to and saluted. I have seen the kind become the blind and the blind become the bind in one easy lesson.”

The University of Arkansas rescinded a job offer for Emily Suski, a prospective law school dean, after she signed an amicus brief in our Supreme Court case supporting a transgender teen banned from playing sports.
State officials can't punish public employees for their opinions and legal advocacy.
“Bribery and corruption, both moral and factual, have eaten into the whole fabric of our society and these must be stamped out if we are to achieve any progress.”
“I cannot sit idly by in Atlanta and not be concerned about what happens in Birmingham. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly.“

It’s the thought that counts 🖤

After lying about this baby they gassed and almost killed in their own neighborhood, DHS deleted their post
“Imperialism knows no law beyond its own interest and it is natural that despite the pretensions of its agents to justice and fair play, they always seek their interests first.”
“‘The Press in this country, as in any other country, can be a tremendous carrier of goodwill if it so wishes, or, it can just as easily follow a policy of racial division and all that policy entails…”
“Today every vice has reached its ruinous zenith.”
Please. I understand being upset in these times, but proclaiming this moment as “the most embarrassed you felt to be American” is flagrant.
“Once lost in Hades’ hall
You will be homeless and invisible –
Another shadow flittering back and forth with shadows of no worth.”
I’ve spent the last few years finding my love of reading again, but in the new year I want get back to watching films. Finally got around to watching “Malcolm X,” and I feel that old passion for film resurfacing
Reading Update 🥳😇
It’s been a great reading year, and I plan to finish it out strong 😤 I refuse to go into the new year still reading “Crime and Punishment.”

“I can’t see how the Americans can call this a land of freedom where so much slavery is.”
Keep talking about Sudan.
For the most part I’ve liked the long dialogues. Only some parts I’m like okay wrap it up 😂 I want to get to Anna Karenina next year
This is my first lengthy Russian lit, and I’d say it’s been a pretty accessible journey. It can be dense in some parts. Dialogue can run on for pages and pages 😭 but I haven’t had a hard time understanding what’s going on
Ah! I hope they do. I was lucky to be able to thrift it. Reminded me a lot of “Against the Loveless World” by Susan Abulhawa
If you haven’t read “Woman at Point Zero” by Nawal El Saadawi I highly encourage you to! I’m ready to call her a favorite author after just one book…
