Git Guuuud!!! ๐ 50 hrs here never leaving Hernand...
What makes #CrimsonDesert special is how good it is at simply being a video game. It doesn't have the driving force of a grand narrative, and it isn't the best at character development. But the open-world sandbox experience is a wonder of immersion and exploration It's fun, and maybe that's enough.
"But not yet weary are our feet
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone."

"Few now remember them... yet still some go wandering, sons of forgotten kings walking in loneliness, guarding from evil things folk that are heedless."

Me: I hate games that feel like chores to play.
Also me: [Chopping trees for 14 hours in Crimson Desert] This is lovely! ๐
My biggest gripe is that this game was begging for a character creator. Kliff is okay but it's not like he's a fully developed character. I've been using Damiane for some sidequests (and photo mode) but the game never lets you forget that this is Kliff's story. A custom made hero would be the dream.
Oh shoot I got the Crimson Desert disease! I can't stop thinking about this game!
The best open world games purvey a sense of landscape. On that alone, CD is a masterpiece. You can easily get lost, and every journey is an adventure. It invites the player to slow down. To forget about the next map marker, and venture just a little further.

After 30+ hours into #CrimsonDesert, I decided not to use the deluxe edition armor pack - which feels somewhat out of place - and go for the Aragorn/Ranger look instead. Also, got a cool grey horse, that is actually slower than the first one you get. Somehow, making life harder is actually fun. ๐ช๐
It turns out that Crimson Desert excels at delivering fantasy and atmosphere. Walking through the night in search of a walking tree. The whispering wind. The sound of giant footsteps in the dark. And then, there it was. Majestic.

This game man! I'm only 30+ hours into it and this totally is the Skyrim of this decade. I can't believe someone would play the game I'm playing and say it's a 6 out of 10 lol. I found an Ent last night! The atmosphere... Unbelievable. Having so much fun discovering and learning things. Epic stuff!
I have a bunch of unpublished captures from my latest playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077, so here's V being awesome.

My V started without scars, and then I changed her look after the Konpeki Plaza heist went wrong. Work related injuries and V doesn't have the platinum insurance package I guess. Also, they're cool. ๐

In Crimson Desert, the quests are there to point you in certain directions, to tell you to "go there". And while they are there to guide you, the purpose is to send you into the world, to lose yourself, and find whatever you will. Very Skyrim like in that way.
I'm in the early ours of the game but I have been following the debate about the story. And while I am a huge fan of narrative in games, and believe a good story makes a game transcend (RDR2 for example), seems to me that the story serves a very functional aspect of exploration in CD. +
Played a few hours of Crimson Desert this weekend and I already know Iโll be playing hundreds more. The photo mode is somewhat basic, but the world is stunning. Canโt wait to explore and get lost in it.

I must be a special kind of gamer cause I just played 3 hours of Crimson Desert and I already know I'll be playing this game for 300 hours. ๐คท๐ #CrimsonDesert
Congratulations! I'm loving my first climb. ๐ฉท
Me buying Expedition 33. (Sorry y'all)
After completing my 7th playthrough of Cyberpunk ๐ I had two options, Cairn and Crimson Desert, both installed. I chose the smaller one. I'll be following you into the never ending game afterwards. ๐
Seven hours into my first playthrough - two of those were spent in the climbing gym lol - and I can already tell this will be one of my great gaming experiences of the year. Beautiful, inspired. And a wonderful photo mode. Love it.
