When Elden Ring was new, I pirated DS3 (which, I was told, was the most approachable up to then) to see if the genre was for me. Made it most of the way through the base game and decided to get Elden Ring, and made it through to NG+4 or so in that. I don't want to give up the new controls, ever.

I've used dowels for wrestling-safe Messer stuff, but they're so light they rebound a lot so there's no biting. Maybe they're too small in diameter.

Honestly I didn't think of that, I figured it'd deform on impact some but the actual idea of biting seemed unlikely to me. I pictured it at either perfectly smooth & sanded or a splintery mess, not a good middle ground.
