I agree. I’m 59 and I’ve already lost a few classmates (that I’m aware of) who were relatively healthy, from a class of less than 300. It’s so weird to think about.

My husband’s mother was a single mom who raised 3 boys while she waitressed. She put herself through school to become a teacher and she had a baby at 15.

When we went to Europe this summer, we did a self checkout that was awesome. The 5 cameras scanned our items for us (before we put them down!) and rang it up. Perhaps being a checker is just a job better for machines.

I have mixed feelings on the checker thing. I’ve met people who were checkers at Walmart and hated the job, called out from work, told me, “It’s just a Walmart job,” etc. I hate doing my own checkout, but it is better than standing in long lines for the two people who showed up to work, I think.

Teacher here. I’m not sure reading is not being taught correctly. We have a society that does not value reading. Students are required to read a little bit every night and most schools that I’ve worked at have competitions to encourage reading. Sadly, kids tell me they have no books in their home.

I also feel like to tries to choose the easiest path so he can win his peace prize. Ending this war requires work and trump isn’t interested in putting the effort in that it requires. Supporting Putin requires no energy.

I agree. I’m surprised that we still haven’t found a way to rid ourselves of gerrymandering. I just realized recently that the party in power gets to set the maps. After 250 years, why don’t we have a federal law that addresses this better?

I agree. He doesn’t care if individual republicans lose seats or have upset constituents. Once he’s gone, the sane republicans go go back to small government policies, eventually.

It inspires people on social media that they are not alone in their belief. That is immeasurable perhaps, but it also might keep people voting or calling Congress. It does help.
