The rounded window corner UI in Tahoe is clunky. If you're gonna go massive corners make the cursor follow the curve.

Well I went down the rabbit hole and PCH plan is state highway planning jurisdiction. (See public comment 3 on the same theme.) I’ll see where that leads!. pw.lacounty.gov/core-service...

Do you know who specifically? I think the PCH disaster recovery aspect was mostly Caltrans, US army and LA emergency dept for broader plan—with governor’s office too. Agree that mandate is more “cleanup and reopen.”

Who leads vision and planning for what the PCH should be?

Thank you for the speed in addressing this!

Rebuilding the PCH is an opportunity to extend bike and pedestrian paths North, from the Palisades.

Today paths dissolve into dangerous riding and walking along highway shoulders. An opportunity for better living and less congestion. Could it happen?

Bringing this to Bsky bc @steverattner.bsky.social hasn't posted it yet and it's so critical. The entirety of the cuts to Medicaid and food benefits are to pay for tax cuts for people earning more than half a million a year.

China’s Exports to U.S. Plunge, in Sign of Bite From Trump Tariffs The drop in U.S.-bound shipments was offset by a surge in Chinese goods to Southeast Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America.

China will be fine through Trump’s trade war (We won’t be.)

Chinese shipment of goods to the U.S. dropped 21% in April from a year earlier, while exports to:
Southeast Asia surged 21%
Latin America jumped 17%
Shipments to Africa soared 25%
European Union rose 8.3%”

Another tragic broken promise:

$2,000 billion ($2T) goal

~$130b actual or less.
‘Wall of receipts’ accounts $63 billion

Minus ~$200b 2026 alone: less tax revenue, unemployment, rehiring etc.

=~$70b loss just 2026.
DOGE increased deficit while cruelly and illegally cutting people and services.

Everyone should remember that they ARE destroying essential services and research that make us better but they ARE NOT reducing spending.

Even when Trump confounds us with an occasional righteous goal (in the 90s it was Democrats who led the charge on worker protectionism) he will do everything to execute it dumbly

And I like to think we’ve all evolved a bit and believe in global trade. Incentive-based policies like CHIPS—that works.

Houses that were built to withstand fires didn’t burn. All houses near burn zones should be required to be more resilient. Financial assistance under certain income levels to do so. This is an area where regulation is obviously a good and productive thing.

Hegseth Orders Pentagon to Draw Up Plans for Budget Cuts The defense secretary has told senior leaders to prepare to trim 8 percent from the budget over each of the next five years, officials said.

The first SANE budget reduction call—8% military cuts each year over 5 years. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/19/u...

But of course the double standard—Military gets to come up with a 5 year plan while other departments are gutted. I’m confident in the legal fight to defend them.

Backlash builds: why the architecture world hates The Brutalist Brady Corbet’s Oscar-tipped film is clearly based on real-life modernist master Marcel Breuer but brazenly misrepresents him and his revered modernism

I really, really enjoyed The Brutalist. It’s big cinema. But something about the Bauhaus philosophy didn’t feel fully captured, which this sensational headline confirms. I still recommend you see it on the biggest screen you can find. www.theguardian.com/film/2025/ja...
