Very cool

They also had some thematic abilities and could transform into an "eclipse rifle" so there was a lot of fun wielding them. ^^
I had a pair of magical pistols called Sun and Moon though that was just part of their full legal government name
Over my time playing #Helldivers2 I've dove with a handful of salty or sore players. But that number pales in comparison to the hundreds of teammates I've dived with who were supportive, communicative, competent, or even two of those three adjectives! i0
Those are very cool!

I wonder how many of these people are on mic and are communicating? Or how many know for a fact that's why they got kicked vs just assume?
Cause I know I get disconnected more than I ever rage quit but I wonder how many players think I'm leaving a bad mission on purpose?
I once had a player kill me for picking up his gear while he was dead.
I once had someone kick me because I said extraction wouldn't wait.
I once had someone who thought samples weren't shared communally.
But more often it's just someone inviting their friend or people misunderstanding something.
I've gotta be honest, I find it crazy when players talk about stuff like being kicked "for bringing the wrong loadout" or "at extraction multiple times" like it's a super common thing they encounter often.
I have 999 hours in the game and mainly dive SOS and rarely see anything like that.

When people complain about things I often wonder how many are actually bugs vs misunderstood features.
"Vox engines go over walls!" = Bug
"There's too many enemies on D10 Cyberstan missions and they're constantly calling in more dropships on us!" = Feature
Thinking about sight alignments in HD2 and how games either have make compromises with stuff like "the bullets come out of the barrel" vs "out of the sights" #Helldivers2 #justHelldiverThings

Calling in an Eagle!
You're allowed to not like a game. You can hate the changes a studio makes. You can be critical of stuff you enjoy and stuff you don't!
But some of the criticisms from these guys are just childish whining and represent everything wrong with toxic fandom and current media illiteracy brain rot.
I know being negative about other people being negative just makes a loop but gd are some YouTubers a plague.
I hate that hating on something is its own industry online
someone asked me how to draw tactical stuff for #BELLSHROUD_TTRPG
so i put together a quick tutorial and breakdown on how all of that stuff is layered!
All CEOs Are Bastards
Personally, I love some industrial aesthetics. Either retrofitted or multipurpose. Give me some big yellow and black bars. Let me see that hi-vis gear. Give me that OSHA certification.
New Illuminates have appeared on the horizon. New enemies, new factions of Illuminates. Should be fun diving those new planets. #Helldivers2

And now "Doxdivers." Am I missing any?
They made design choice to let players fail in spectacular fashion or rise up glorious hard fought wins.
One of the reasons this game rocketed to success early on was because of the clips that went viral of people snatching victory from defeat or dealing with a Pelican bug.
Video brings up a point about what Helldivers 2 is doing that other modern shooters aren't.
The weightiness, the pressure, the friendly fire, the chaos. So many shooters are afraid to inconvenience the player. HD2 makes it a feature.
Your Favorite Shooter Is Missing The Point youtu.be/LQSvds6AQmk #Helldivers2
Yup. And half the Helldiver hacker stories I hear are just "guy spawned in Super Credits" or extra gear.
Personally, I got tired of PvP. I never got into COD but played a ton of Halo and Overwatch. It was a forever grind of 50/50 win rates. Even in casual unranked matches, both your opponents and teammates could get so salty. PvE is just so much less pressure and fun.
Why Helldivers Players Are Happier Than COD Players youtu.be/3vv9q_Kiaho
It's a great PvE experience and feels refreshing to me after so many PvP grinding games and horde shooters that just make enemies bullet sponges in higher difficulties. Balancing a game where the player can still be killed by the smallest enemy even after 500 hours in game is gotta be a battle.
Screenshot of YouTube comments: Comment 1: "Thanks for calling out Dough boy. His takes actively have the potential to destroy the identity of the game that it had when it came out. I've been getting so tired of his constant negativity over his own whiny personal opinions." Comment 2: "If vou think it is the 'community' ruining the game, you should apply for nArrowhead community manager. You would fit right in."
There are some reasonable comments (top one) but there's also so much salt (bottom one). I wish OD did not have the following he did in the HD2 community. While I'm not gonna claim AH does everything right, the second comment is straight up childish.
You are always allowed to dislike a game or move on from it. I think there's nuance to the discussions around AH and game balance that is entirely thrown out the window by the online community. Why some people keep playing a game that seemingly brings them no joy is beyond me. I still dive for fun.
