I try my best to find the OG source too. I get it can be time-consuming, but it's worth doing IMO.

When I was the only reporter covering it at the time, and then to see another outlet start getting sourced as the original report, even if it's a story on public information, it's frustrating.

Nothing better than when you are the first to report something, only for a day later, another outlet writes a story, fails to source you, and then a third outlet sources the second outlet that failed to source you.
