Oh hey it's Trans Day of Visibility
I'm pretty damn visibly trans and will continue to be so. Things are terrifying right now and we need so much more than just Visibility, but it's also more important now than ever to show we aren't going anywhere. I'm proud of who I am and what I write.
If The Proud Boys are defending you, you're almost certainly in the wrong.
Jadzia Dax and Kor hugging: "Curzon, my beloved old friend." "I'm Jadzia now." "Jadzia, my beloved old friend!"
It's also the day for my favorite meme!
If this aging Klingon warrior can get it right, so can anyone.
Seattle folks: there is a massive fundraiser this weekend supporting immigrant rights nonprofits. Lots of local restaurants and businesses are donating a portion of their profits. Eat good food, help a good cause: bit.ly/m/seattlefun...
Thinking back on it, I think it was too big and took too much time to use. Our kids were small then. Once it wound up in the garage, we never brought it back out.
We were gifted one years ago and we've used it... once or twice? Have a good use case in mind, I think.
"a pile"... OK. "thousands and thousands"... they are. Or, at the very least, they have GONE.
This is why I focus on teaching the basics when I do my hardware hacking villages: most folks don't know and are eager to learn.
I didn't think I'd have anything of value to teach but I promise you that you can teach stuff you think everyone knows and there's an audience for it:
yikes
If you went to college
1. what was your career goal when you started?
2. your initial major?
3. if you changed majors, what did you change to?
4. what do you do now, professionally?
1. Scientist
2. Physics
3. Dropout
4. Computer shit
Tori Amos playing two pianos at once.
Tori is one of those artists that both my wife and I were into when we met. I saw her once in Seattle in the 90s, and we managed to see her just recently on the last show of the "Ocean to Ocean" tour. Here's a shot of her playing two pianos at the same time.
Black Cheesesteak. I accept this.
Costco is awesome. I've shopped at #01 in Seattle a few times, and my local Costco is the one adjacent to their corporate HQ. Now that I think about it, I'm surprised that I only know one person who works there.

Why is it so GOOD?
The embedded English makes this look exactly like you're just funny-talking for a British sitcom or a child's play.
But have you seen this amazing sweater?

I have this ThinkPad T480 from 2018 and I just cannot find a reason to buy anything newer. Laptops were not always like this. The upgrade from my 2006 Macbook to my 2010 Macbook Pro was massive. My laptop in 1998 was a 68030 with a b/w display and a TRACKBALL.

I just had a grilled ham and cheese on a little of this bread and it's even prettier on the inside.
Write the last chapter of the novel and call it a short story.

"tootin', tweetin', and skeetin'" has a nice alliteration + internal rhyme going on.
I’m so glad. (And so is @dirkmaggs.bsky.social )
I totally forgot that I got outed as an “antifa lawyer” last night.
A picture of a large black lamppost with a pale yellow poster in black impact font reading “A world without trans people has never existed and never will”. There is a small parking lot and a store with a few potted plants in front of it near the door in the background to the right of the lamppost. A large electrical cabinet painted dark green and decorated with paintings of baby blue daisies, ruddy orange bell cap mushrooms, and other plants is just behind and to the left of the lamppost.
stolen from twitter, but it’s too important to leave over there
