Horrifying. The 180º turn Trump has put America in, giving way to dictators, abandoning soft power initiatives that actually help people, and ceding the moral high ground by perpetrating authoritarian acts… it's just sad to see.

A Tennessee House education subcommittee approved a plan Tuesday to create a state-appointed board to run Memphis-Shelby County Schools, a move opponents said would subvert the will of voters.
Looking forward to it!
Never before have we had a President who is so inept at being informed, that he constantly says he's just hearing about (big) things happening *inside his own administration*.
Well, that's not entirely accurate. We had such a President from 2017-2021.
As DOGE and Trump claim to be rooting out govt waste, remember that the first Trump administration granted "church" status to the Family Research Council, allowing the nonprofit to shield its finances from public scrutiny.
It also can't be audited without ok from a high-level Treasury official.
Occasionally, CNN remembers that it is supposed to be a news organization:
“This pardon—and specifically the blanket nature of the pardon—sends the message that so long as your candidate wins, partisan violence against law enforcement in the seat of our nation’s government is acceptable... (1/2)
Tennessee's Sen. Marsha Blackburn was among those who refused to respond to repeated questions.

Of course, we know the GOP loves their lame duck period double-standards.
Appoint a SCOTUS Justice in an election year? Only if it's under a GOP President, even if votes are being case to unseat them.
Send bills in an active Congressional session? Not unless it's what the GOP wants.
And typically the "unelected bureaucrats" that Republicans complain about are ones that were actually appointed/confirmed/hired by elected officials, all of whom would be considered in the government structure.
Musk *may* be co-running an *advisory commission* in the *upcoming* administration.

Facebook loves reminding me why I shouldn't use that app for much anymore.
If I've expanded a post to view it and leave the tab for any significant amount of time, the UI resets and scrolls back to the top of the Feed.
No browser history state.
No way to revisit that post.
I don't know who owns and maintains bluesky[dot]app, but I bet they are loving all the traffic they're getting for people trying to get to here
