One of the most unique I've experienced!

A spectacular sunset takes shape over the mountains of the eastern Sierra and desert rock formations of the Alabama Hills. In the foreground, a multi-lobed cactus and a striped rock lead into the image.

This image is the first of many from an epic trip to Death Valley and the Eastern Sierra!
I hunted the first night for a good cactus, finally finding one in the very last vestiges of blue hour for a Milky Way scene. So I was ready when this sunset started taking shape! #landscapephotography

Thanks! That's what caught my eye first, then the pink started working its way down the peak... so cool!

Alpenglow illuminates a mountain in pink at the center of the frame. No detail is visible, only the shape. Trees and valleys in the foreground and an epic cloudscape above, with a simple yellow sky behind the mountain.
