When I’m god, this is how things are going to work in the human body

Wyden has repeatedly campaigned against its periodic renewal and voted no every time except for once when he voted to renew it for 10 days so as to extend debate, eventually voting no (again). He stated at the time of his original vote that he was a yay because he’d been assured it was temporary.

Trump's 'gaudy' arch approved despite unanimous hate After months of public debate, a federal commission has approved the designs for President Donald Trump’s enormous triumphal arch to be constructed in Washington, D.C. The commission — selected by the...

I believe that the story of how Trump is scheduling so many mandatory demolition projects for the next President doesn't get near enough attention.

I am curious as to how you've arrived at this conclusion and what your definition of "betrayal" in these circumstances is.

I am asking this question in good faith.

I don't either, but I also don't know how not to respond to comments since I've never been in the position of having two comments liked 1400+ times in one day. 🤣

Mine is that producers made better jungle with an Atari ST and Akai samplers than they do with modern production tools.

Not all ADHD meds are stimulants, of course, but there is a phenomenon known as rebound hunger (where one overeats when their meds wear off thus leading to weight gain), and I feel like someone as obsessive as this guy would know about that, consider it an unacceptable side effect, and opt for meth.

Mogging isn’t a word in my personal vocabulary, but I agree the interviewer is surreptitiously ridiculing his ideas. Merely being on 60 minutes asserts that his ideas are being seriously even if the conclusion is mockery…

He's probably had them all pulled and replaced with dental implants specifically designed for the rough & tumble world of active meth addiction

He says he doesn't use a hammer, but uses his fist, thus answering the question, WHY ARE YOU HITTING YOURSELF? WHY ARE YOU HITTING YOURSELF? STOP HITTING YOURSELF, CLAVICUDORK!

I bet he gives himself wedgies to improve his pelvic outline, too

Currently take adderall for ADHD & used meth for a short amount of time decades ago and this is 100% true. I actually put on weight after treating my ADHD because for me, the effect is calmness/focus.

ADHD meds don't make for great weight-loss drugs, but with meth you absolutely will stop eating.

Guess it must depend on which interview! Maybe his handlers have instructed him to retcon the meth stuff, despite his extensive & detailed earlier advocacy as to the benefits of chicken flipping sik gak.

Weird how all those things are just being overlooked (not saying OP did, just the media obsession in general) because he's been elevated as a proxy for the alleged "male loneliness epidemic".

Nah, he's just a moderately attractive, but still crazy tweaker who the algorithm picked to elevate.

He says explicitly that he has used methamphetamine in multiple interviews, and explains in detail his motivations for doing so.

Here's his recent 60 minutes interview, linked to the point of the interview where he's asked about it: youtu.be/CXKCoFz3WRs?...

500+ likes to some pithy comments within the span of 2 hours but not a single follow as a result is not the validation I'd prefer, but one I begrudgingly accept, knowing that any need for validation is usually unhealthy, especially when it comes to social media.

Yes! This is my exact point. I'm pretty sure he didn't originate the ideas within himself, but his embrace of such a large volume of extreme measures sounds exactly like an active meth addict obsessively reading forum posts and constructing a yarn-and-pushpin map connecting ALL the dots he sees.

Figuring out storage is a key part of any obsession. I recommend a visit to Etsy and using very specific search terms to start with.

Me too, but part of me also wants to see articles in right-wing media decrying the deficiencies of elder care in prisons accompanied by a photo essay showing the slow deterioration of certain imprisoned patients 6-7 years from now.

I feel like people should be on-guard when they hear phrases like "open secret" and "known for years" that are not also backed by hard evidence. You can believe women when they come forward (which is what the Dems are doing) without also believing that some Dems secretly knew/tolerated it beforehand

I think perhaps the bigger question is, who is alleging that Swalwell's behavior was "known for years" ? Jack Posobiec and other right-wing operatives ? Journalists with a reputation for laundering right-wing innuendo?

Are we talking about the same subject? I was talking about people not named Eric Swalwell.

This explains many things, namely why this band has absolutely blown up in all my feeds, but also why I can't tolerate their music for longer than 2-3 minutes, which is sad because this band is an example of something that hypothetically pushes all my buttons yet fails to do so in actual practice.

Regular nuggets of obscure-yet-absolutely-relatable wisdom from this account and I am 100% here for it

I feel like "widely reported" is not the same thing as "direct, irrefutable reporting from multiple, primary sources that people had intimate knowledge of Swalwell's criminal behavior and chose to ignore it" and at least, on this story, folks should have higher standards prior to underbus-tossing.

Or at least, the stand-in for "serious consideration" in the attention economy's zigs and zags.

It's the tail wagging the dog. Those who've been privvy to a friend's meth addiction can relate to the phenom of hearing said friend go on-and-on about a weird, new obsession they developed after starting meth use.

The difference with this guy is his ideas are being given serious consideration.

Great turn-of-phrase, but his methamphetamine addiction is (ironically?) one of the things he doesn't put front and center.

I would, however, *love* to hear him speak more about how the clouds of meth smoke he exhales after hitting the pipe are way bigger than the other tweakers at the meth cave.

1 week ago 13 0 1 0

He says in interviews that he smokes meth to "stay thin" and "achieve hollow cheeks" and I feel like many overlook this fact as likely being the source of the rest of his issues, rather than say, number four or five on the list of weird things about this guy.

I feel like the steroid use and smashing-self-in-face-with-hammer aspects of looksmaxxing don't get near as much attention at what might be a more of a, let's say, foundational aspect: using meth.
