Not all ADHD meds are stimulants, of course, but there is a phenomenon known as rebound hunger (where one overeats when their meds wear off thus leading to weight gain), and I feel like someone as obsessive as this guy would know about that, consider it an unacceptable side effect, and opt for meth.

Currently take adderall for ADHD & used meth for a short amount of time decades ago and this is 100% true. I actually put on weight after treating my ADHD because for me, the effect is calmness/focus.

ADHD meds don't make for great weight-loss drugs, but with meth you absolutely will stop eating.

Yes! This is my exact point. I'm pretty sure he didn't originate the ideas within himself, but his embrace of such a large volume of extreme measures sounds exactly like an active meth addict obsessively reading forum posts and constructing a yarn-and-pushpin map connecting ALL the dots he sees.

I feel like people should be on-guard when they hear phrases like "open secret" and "known for years" that are not also backed by hard evidence. I think perhaps the bigger question is, who is alleging that Swalwell's behavior was "known for years" ? Jack Posobiec and other right-wing operatives ? Journalists with a reputation for laundering right-wing innuendo?

I feel like "widely reported" is not the same thing as "direct, irrefutable reporting from multiple, primary sources that people had intimate knowledge of Swalwell's criminal behavior and chose to ignore it" and at least, on this story, folks should have higher standards prior to underbus-tossing.

It's the tail wagging the dog. Those who've been privvy to a friend's meth addiction can relate to the phenom of hearing said friend go on-and-on about a weird, new obsession they developed after starting meth use.

The difference with this guy is his ideas are being given serious consideration.

I would, however, *love* to hear him speak more about how the clouds of meth smoke he exhales after hitting the pipe are way bigger than the other tweakers at the meth cave.

He says in interviews that he smokes meth to "stay thin" and "achieve hollow cheeks" and I feel like many overlook this fact as likely being the source of the rest of his issues, rather than say, number four or five on the list of weird things about this guy.

I feel like the steroid use and smashing-self-in-face-with-hammer aspects of looksmaxxing don't get near as much attention at what might be a more of a, let's say, foundational aspect: using meth.
