A cartoon showing various activity at an airport, including an extorted luxury jet, an exploding X rocket, a ketamine enthusiast wheeling a barrow of money to his plane, many ICE officers -- some taking people to an El Salvador plane, another with a zip-tied child being blocked by a federal judge -- scientists boarding a plane to Europe, a medical self-educator covered with pox, and more. All the people are represented by various animals. The story is made in the style of a Richard Starry children's book. Alt text borrowed from Mastodon..

Trump’s waiting by the phone for Xi Jinping to call. But Beijing’s not blinking — and they’ve got more than just tariffs in their playbook. They can block US companies, squeeze rare earth exports, dump Treasuries, and hit our farmers hard.

China’s playing the long game & Trump doesn’t even know it.

I did it last summer, plus most of the series. Do the timeline order if it’s still available on the Disney App. I’m glad I watched it all but it was a project for sure.

If the Democrats had any sense at all, they would plaster this post on billboards everywhere there’s been an acrimonious town hall. These citizens need to see what trump really thinks of them.

Well, all I can say is that as a Texan, Abbott’s poll numbers literally made me lol. His nose is so far up trump’s rear end yet 4% said nah, ANYONE but him. Love that for Greg Abbott 🤡

@washingtonpost.com You left out a very important word in that crappy headline. Pretty sure ILLEGAL belongs somewhere in that sentence. DO BETTER.

Never before has there been such a gang of Republican politicians so willing to sell their souls for their own reelection at the expense of the rule of law and the health, safety, security and freedom of their children, grandchildren, constituents and country.

Gutting USAID threatens billions of dollars for U.S. farms, businesses U.S. businesses that sold goods and services to USAID are in limbo, including American farms dealing in rice, wheat and soybeans.

American farms supply ~41% of the food aid USAID sends around the world each year.

In 2020, they bought $2.1 BILLION in food aid from American farmers.

“You start dismantling these [food aid] programs and it’s a ripple effect,” he said. “The farmers are affected; the farm economy is affected.”

People are just pawns on a game board for him. Not individual souls with histories, hopes, and dreams.

How can we become the “Christian” nation that they CLAIM they want us to be and then completely disregard Matthew 25:40?

'whatever you do for the least of mine, you do for me'

Babies will starve, children will suffer, and the “forgotten” will truly become forgotten.

Shame on MAGA.

It’s illegal, Musk is not an elected official. DOGE is not a government agency, it doesn’t have Congressional approval required for its creation. Lock him up!

I apologize. Blame it on a lack of coffee. After a reread, I see what you meant and agree. As someone whose livelihood comes from ag, the farmers are the main focus to me so that’s where my sympathy immediately went. I should probably wait until I’m fully awake to post. Sorry for misunderstanding.

What’s the big deal? This tells me that you have no farming experience at all. Which is fine, most people don’t. But the loss of millions of gallons of water that is vital yet likely irreplaceable? To a farmer and their livelihood, it’s a very, very, VERY big deal.

the problem with “norms” is they’re just held together with common sense and a fear of shame. when people have neither, it all collapses.

If you think wild fires are caused by a Jewish Space Laser, natural disasters are caused by wokeness, and Haitian immigrants are eating people’s pets, DEI causes plane crashes sounds like a logical conclusion.

The highest compliment from someone who disagrees with you is not “You were right.” It’s “You made me think.”

Good arguments help us recognize complexity where we once saw simplicity.

The ultimate purpose of debate is not to produce consensus. It’s to promote critical thinking.

Should go without saying but the point of diversity in hiring is to find _better_-qualified candidates outside of stagnant social networks that don't reward merit, like the kind of network that would put an MTV personality with a marketing degree in charge of the Department of Transportation

What? Are they like making water bombs and tossing them at each other? Melting down $50 mil worth of rubbers and crafting giant nets? I need more info please.

These orders aren’t coming from Donald Trump. He’s the useful idiot for Heritage Foundation, the 100 organizations that wrote Project 2025, and the donors that paid $25M+ to fund it. They aren’t even scrubbing the meta data off the PDF’s.

Can they? Possibly. But will they is another story. All of the outlets you tagged are too COWARDLY to do their job so the general public can know how THEIR tax money is being spent.
