Yes — “The older I get, the more I realize, I don’t want a busy life. I want a deep life. Slow mornings. Focused work. Calm people. Meaningful progress. Good books. A quiet mind at night. Nothing flashy. Nothing trendy. Just a life that feels good to live. Depth over noise. That'll do.“ Karun Pal

Agreed! I saved so many quotes that I felt I was growing alongside Taran. 😅

That’s wonderful! I wish I had read this series as a child. I am enjoying it very much and I’m excited to see how it ends

I finished this book today and, even though this might not be the most exciting book in the series, I loved following Taran in his quest to know himself. Next up, The High King. 📖

“Life’s a forge!” cried the smith, as Taran, his brow streaming, beat at the strip of metal. “Yes, and hammer and anvil, too! You’ll be roasted, smelted, and pounded, and you’ll scarce know what’s happening to you. But stand boldly to it! Metal’s worthless till it’s shaped and tempered!”

“I’ve heard men complain of doing woman’s work, and women complain of doing man’s work, but I’ve never heard the work complain of who did it, so long as it got done!”

“Did I ever think a weaver’s shuttle a light burden?” Taran sighed.

“It’s not the shuttle that burdens you,” answered Dwyvach, “but lack of skill, a heavy burden, Wanderer, that only one thing can lift.”

“What secret is that?” Taran cried.

But Dwyvach only smiled. “It is patience, Wanderer.”

A hand holding out a copy of Lloyd Alexander’s book, “Taran Wanderer.”

“Craftsmanship isn’t like water in an earthen pot, to be taken out by the dipperful until it’s empty. No, the more drawn out the more remains. The heart renews itself, Wanderer, and skill grows all the better for it.”
