udm14 is supporting the cause.
Heads-up: udm56 is no longer working—Google appears to have disabled that. We’ve added a redirect to udm14.
Well, @udm14.bsky.social’s biggest referrer is Google.
Here’s @tedium.co’s assessment of the changes to the Web view we’re based on. Does it break what we do? No—but it could add an extra step to searches.

I have some bad news
We added this piece to the @udm14.bsky.social homepage.
Our tool makes AI overviews less annoying, but in aggregate, the knock-on effects matter. We hope you click the link and read Emanuel’s excellent piece.
aww, I have a little brother
I’m on top of it
In honor of @udm14.bsky.social celebrating its one-year anniversary, I wrote a little thing on LinkedIn:

The power of small experiments is that they can sometimes become big ideas.
Oh shit I forgot about this guy. I don’t usually interact with haters, but I felt it was important to interact with you because nobody else does
In that year, we’ve seen 1.75 million unique visitors across udm14.com and udm14.org, and we get 140,000 new visitors every month.
Turns out, people just want Google to work!
We hope our little hack keeps working for years to come.
Shockingly, we’re still here. https://udm14.com
*deep sigh*
noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo anything but that
The most important news in this post is that they have not broken @udm14.bsky.social. blog.google/products/sea...
For transparency, a quick note: We added a small ad to support server costs. It is from a trusted partner we’ve worked with for years, and can be easily ignored.
If you don’t want it, the original version is here: udm14.com/old/
It's entirely possible the ampersand is driving it nuts.
I attempted to update the code to be close to a known working one and it didn't work.
Maybe a bug on Thunderbird’s end? I tried a few things and could not get it to work. It seems to be the only browser that doesn’t like it.
Also, they ended up making other things on the server end mad. Given that this is a niche use case, I’d suggest reaching out to them to determine the issue.
It may be a Thunderbird-specific bug as the format works just fine in Firefox. I have made a couple of tweaks on my end but it seems like it’s not happy whatever I do.
You’re using a broken URL. it’s udm14.com/search.xml
Oh, and don’t bother calling 911 anymore. Here’s the real number. Image: Homer Simpson looking at “912” on a sheet of paper.
Hi, we’re the 912 of search.
udm14.com
According to @metafilter.bsky.social if you put a swear word in your search you can skip the AI.
I think that means &udm=14 is also a swear word according to Google.
Fuck yeah!

udm14’s biggest referrer is Google, which is pretty funny if you think about it.
