It’s be pretty funny if they released Coyote vs ACME and it sucks.

As someone who doesn’t give one iota of a shit about sports, it’s crazy that two of my top 5 films of all time are technically sports movies.
I was struck on this viewing by how well Ben Burns and Taejo Togokhan are utilized.
Two dark mirrors of what Speed is in danger of becoming, both thoroughly resigned to a cynical corporate world, and you see how they both can’t help but be won over by Speed’s earnest dedication and talent.
So many little choices and visuals and sick ass shit I noticed only on a screen this massive. I truly feel like I’ve transcended man.
Hirsch, Ricci, Goodman, Sarandon, Fox, and the rest all add an astonishing amount of depth to what could’ve easily been wafer thin characters. Every single person down to the but parts with 6 lines apiece are doing absolutely iconic work, as are the VFX, most of which hold up nearly 2 decades on.
It truly cannot be described what it’s like seeing this thing on a massive screen with a crowd of people for the first time since 08.
I’m giggling and kicking my feet and biting my lip and saying “oh my god” and barely containing my yells for a movie I’ve seen over 20 times already.
I struggle to think of a better descriptor for this film than “astonishing”.
I feel privileged to see it, or even live in a world where it exists.
I’m terrible at picking favorites. Always have been. You REALLY have to twist my arm to get me to make that kinda choice.
That said, Speed Racer has been a mainstay in my Top 5 films of All Time for 18 years. Seeing it in IMAX tonight, I think I can now say with total confidence that it’s my #1.
You’re right. I’m just saying it’s not hard to see why people would read that into it.
undergo a whole arc about being too self-motivated and manipulative and extreme.
Just saying, it’s not hard to read centrism into that.
never prompted to point and laugh at him for getting punished by the narrative. The movie draws plenty of laughs out of him, but not out of his humiliation or “defeat”.
He’s just a normal harmless misguided nice guy for the most part, while the environmentalist protag is the one who needs to-
I don’t think we’re supposed to disagree with her cause either.
The cause is inarguably just. What we’re supposed to disagree with is her tunnel vision and inability to compromise.
And again, we are supposed to laugh at Jerry’s corniness and caricatured squeaky-clean White Guy affect, but we’re-
apologize for voting for him and supporting him? No, we won’t forgive you. We will NEVER forgive you. MAYBE 5 years ago, but what exactly caused the scales to drop from your eyes? Was it the ableism? The misogyny? The SA? The rolling back of Federal safeguards? Instigating an insurrection? Actively
gaslight us into thinking that he’s “not that bad” or deflect by pointing out other presidents. All American presidents have problems, most worse than others, but Trump has permanently damaged this country’s reputation for years to come. And you have the nerve to wait a whole fucking decade to
To everyone who is NOW seeing the light and realizing that Trump is subhuman, you’re not welcome in my company.
You had 10 years to figure this shit out. It was incredibly obvious from day 1 that he was clearly unfit for office. We tried to warn you but you dismissed our grievances and tried to
dark consequence of Mabel being unreasonable and impulsive, and it’s all pretext to an entirely sincere character arc on Jerry’s part.
We laugh at the ridiculous circumstances Jerry’s landed in, and his cartoonishly perky WASP-ish self, but were never really supposed to laugh at his misery.
Being completely accurate, that’s not where he ENDS the movie, and I wouldn’t say he suffers any more humiliation or ridicule than George does.
Jerry’s an exceptionally well-liked Mayor from start to finish, and the shit he goes through is silly and entertaining but also mostly framed as the-
What is this compulsion conservatives have to frame every stupid counterintuitive self-sabotaging decision as “restoring freedom”?
It’s not impeding on anyone’s freedom to require they see a fuckin doctor, numb nuts.
Why is the world being run by idiots?
My biggest fear about the American Gundam movie isn't anything to do with the casting but that it's going to do that American military story thing of "It pains me so much to kill people in this noble war but it's necessary for our freedom." The mecha equivalent of this clip
Obligatory, with Tim Apple back in the news:

I thought they were calling it centrist because the center-right coded Newsom-esque mayor was portrayed sympathetically and ultimately one of the good guys.
Measles is NOT "just like chickenpox". It can kill years later. This woman was so brave for coming forward with her story.

It's such a wild coinkydink that the people angry at Booker for saying this are the EXACT same people he's criticizing. The Venn Diagram is a circle. Looking inward is simply not on the table evidently.
If only men were as chatty when they witnessed abuse against women as they are when they want to correct women.
Gave up like 3 pars in do I have enough details to come to the informed conclusion that this person's fucking brain melted?
Coercion is rape. And men try to invalidate this. That doesn’t change that it is RAPE.
