My Grandmother’s expression for someone full of themselves was to say they ‘he thinks he’s the Grand Panjandrum’. I never knew the origin of the word until, well, now!

Thanks so much for this brilliant explainer which I read in the Times this morning. Tax is hard. Capital taxes are really hard. Get expert advice. And I’m a career tax professional, albeit in employment tax.

I’ve just seen a video of his motorcade - which included three emergency ambulances, lights flashing. I trust that none of the good people of Ayrshire need to wait for an ambulance today.

Established liberal. And I feel it fits.

A thoroughly engaging episode- and as a proud Fenwoman it was so good to hear the story of a true Fen tiger - and hero.

Ooh I used to take Petticoat when in my early teens and thought it was wonderful. The trajectory of a boomer can be marked in magazines- from Bunty to Petticoat to Cosmopolitan…and now in my mature years, Good Hoousekeeping….

Plantagenets had a red haired gene too and Elizabeth of York was said to have red/gold hair, so I guess there was a good chance that Tudor’s family would come up with red hair. Lucky things.

I am as you know passionate about this incredible book but I hope you have given every reader the warning to read with tissues to hand…!

Unbelievable…why would anyone wish to go there right now? Tone deaf from the Times again.

When we were in Udaipur, there were many signs for ‘Octopussy Show’ and I was shocked in such a lovely place. Then my husband pointed out the James Bond connection…

Sometimes when I look across the Atlantic I feel despair, which is unlike me. These words are a timely reminder.

Annie Garthwaite’s two books Cecily and The King’s Mother tell the stories of the women who were driving forces during The Wars of the Roses. They’re breathtakingly good.

Back in the 1930s, JB Priestly described football as the poor man’s Iliad and Odyssey. It’s never ‘just’ about football. It’s about stories. Well done Palace.

I know this is a difficult one to figure out but Govt should have started yr 1 by removing WFP from higher rate taxpayers- data readily available and would have been hard to argue against. With a review to see if further cuts were necessary in subsequent years.

The only part of my body I really like is around my collarbone so this dress is for me the perfect shape. Simple, elegant but you’d feel like a million dollars in it.

All three have been exemplars of intelligent and fascinating listening. I love the structure used - retell myth, dig deeper, contextualise - and the music is a joy. I’d own the geek god title if I were you!

Mmm…now what have Saunders and Barton done…is it a good omen I ask?

Both episodes so far have been outstanding and such intelligent listening. Your dedication at the end of ‘Orpheus’ brought a tear. Just beautiful.

BBC should be ashamed of this and make an immediate correction and apology

I cannot count the number of times I’ve made this cake; for afternoon teas, for my appreciative book club, and at the start of the pandemic when all seemed so bleak, this was the recipe I turned to. And it makes delicious cupcakes for choir bring and share!

A friend gave me some violets to plant which have now made their own decisions as to where to flower. Just glorious.

I was lucky enough to go there in 2015. It remains one of my favourite places. The calm, the austere beauty…

Was it the hairs on his leg that triggered it? Ridiculous.
