Yeah we should. How he'd play I have no idea, but my preference is a 2D action game, of course.
Also I believe he'd use the classic subweapons with a few more on top of it.
They have, problem is we never ever see it.
The space between Lament and CVIII is filled with major battles. Vampires are not very common because the Belmonts exterminated them en masse.
On HoD though you see a major battle with an evil spirit who is not Dracula.
Dracula and Lisa in the show being resurrected and living a happily ever after is one of many important differences, too many to list.
Doesn't happen in the games and Lisa's death is noted by one story as being so important that, could it be reversed somehow, endless pain would've been avoided.
Correct. The anime is a separate timeline and does not correspond to the games' lore.
Characters are lifted and names are used, but it's not the same universe.
not a question BUT I agree wholeheartedly :P
One of the most critical plot points, which is really hard to figure out from just playing the games themselves without piecing together info across several games AND in japanese.
The information DOES show up in the games, but it's in passing in a character dialogue.
If you have any questions or something, reply here.
I never much liked the timelines I see floating out there on the internet. So, I assembled one. Have fun.

Dracula resurrection confirmed. Meaning the lore of The Adventure went out of the window.
We have to wait and see, though, to understand for sure.
A LOT of wait and seeing, apparently. To me, the presentation was not that great.
Well fuck Castlevania: The Adventure, I guess!
Wrong Mario there, friend.
It's an hyperfocus that does not cease. I apologize if it's super annoying lmao
Castlevania 1's story is one of the few games we know the exact day for, because it happens during an Easter.
However, Easter of 1691 was April 15th, not April 5th.
During Easter, people of wicked intent will resurrect Dracula and Simon Belmont will defeat him for the first time. Except 300 years ago.
Great job, Simon!
On the subject of video game movies, I'm already dreading Street Fighter.
People will try to make you believe a Street Fighter movie can only work if it's stupid. Don't let them.
and btw not to spoil too much, but what they did to Rosalina's backstory is criminal
Miyamoto truly does hate story in video games
Also, do not expect character arcs. Just 1 character has an arc of self-discovery.
The rest is non-existent.
It's not exactly that the story is incoherent. You can understand what the main draw is and what they have to do.
It's more about how it unfolds. Very little makes sense in the connective details. One thing does not lead into the other, the answers all just appear out of nowhere.
Understand this: When I say the story moves on the basis of "just because", I mean it.
Things happen. There's no logical (con)sequence of events. Characters flat out stumble upon answers to the main story quest.
I realize it's Mario.
Remember you watched the first movie and went "Yep. Expected exactly this from Mario"?
That is lacking here. The story is straight up disjointed, at least one plotline gets cut midway with no conclusion, story moves literally on the basis of "just because"
I watched the Mario Galaxy movie.
It's not doomsday time like many critics are making it seem
But dang man, you'd expect they could write a basic story with logical conclusions and consequences to things.
The story's details go NOWHERE most of the time. And I do mean NO WHERE.
All in all Shaft probably doesn't even count because the lore is "Shaft's faith is weak, and like the legend says, when faith weakens, heretics revive Dracula"
Dude became evil because he let evil inside him.
(there's specifically 1 detail that is milquetoast criticism of christianity-thought process, but requires a billion posts to explain that would include vast context about an unseen game, and a certain Japanese author. I'll do that some other time)
