I hope to one day dance on the graves of every Ai company that stops functioning when we all say No.

Ai-first isn’t human first. Every founder says that Ai will boost productivity and do things better than a human can do and faster. In reality, less workers means less overhead and more profits. Lets not get it twisted. Pivoting to Ai is a cash grab and a class issue.
Probably one of the strangest editorial story I illustrated in a while.

Back in 2011, I bought a pair of Cole Haan dress shoes and I loved them. I bought a few pair and some boots after.
A few months ago, I was looking at a pair of Cole Haans and wondered why the quality wasn’t there any more. Private equity is the reason. Cut costs to save money and profit.
Congrats friend! Well deserved!
This is a bad take. If you’re only thinking about the design process and not the greater impacts of Ai in the long run, you’re only short sighted. You’re only interested in how it’ll work for you.

Okay revised the starter pack description to make it clearer.
If u r a designer or illustrator please boost this to help me find other hiring directors.
If u r an art, design, or creative director who hires designers and/or illustrators, raise your hand—I’ll add u.

If this continues to grow, in 4-8 years, very few illustrators will be able to make a living and art schools will either collapse or train students to make ugly generated art.
Ai generated work is the biggest threat to the illustration industry since the stock photo/art crisis of the late 90’s.
CommArts awarding Ai art, Pentagram using Ai art to make bad art and ChatGPT for a government project, and now a Skechers using Ai-art to make an ugly art that makes no sense for an Ad in Vogue magazine.
I am pretty upset by the slow death march the design industry is making.

I’ve been an illustrator for 15 years and I still anxiously wait to see if I going to get a call or email from SOI this time a year.

Here is a new illustration for the Washington Post Opinion page.

Long live Corporate Memphis!
My iPad Pro just bricked on me yesterday. I’m glad I use a cintiq and laptop to make my work. 😅
Some personal news, in September I’m moving to Philadelphia.
Professional news, I think I can drop publicly tomorrow…
Flying to San Diego tomorrow. Who will I see at Comic Con? I’m not tabling, just hanging out.
If you’re a TAG member & are lucky enough to be working right now, probably the best thing you can do to be strike ready for 2024 negotiations is to start saving NOW. Hopefully we won’t need to strike, but everyone should be financially prepared if we need to pull that trigger.
New work. New website.

I left early during Nathan’s hot dog eating contest after it rained this morning but was happy to use this tote on the Fourth of July.
