I just chose these as the most common herbs. I missed parsley, but I also don’t like parsley so…maybe that was a little on purpose.
Now you can say it was on purpose. It’s “decor”. Other people just don’t get you.
Also it flowers when it gets really hot. So if you have a bunch of hot days in a row, go check on it.
This way you can pretend it was on purpose.
When mine starts flowering I give it a HUGE CHOP and make a big batch of pesto (which you can freeze in ice cube trays for easy portioning later!) it’s easier than trying to catch each flower as it happens and the whole plant will bush out after the chop.
Once got a whole book sized box with a single package of gum in it. 🥲
If they sell well, I’ll take some time to make some press moulds for them, because I can’t actually sell them and cover my labour making each one by hand. So I’ll lose money on this first batch, but it’s more of a proof of concept anyway. Ideally I’d sell them in sets too, but singles for now.
A hand holding a bunch of tombstone shaped herb markers over a kiln (I’m unloading!) they each have a winged skull on them and say “here lies oregano” and “Sage” and “chives” an “basil”
I missed Rosemary, she was still in the kiln. How are we feeling about these tombstone herb markers? I only have two of each, this is kind of a sample batch.
I found out later that the warehouse folks get bonuses based on how many BOXES they pack, not necessarily how much STUFF. Which explained a lot of really weird choices.
I used to work at a large chain bookstore that had a toy section. I was unboxing a palette of toys and in one large box was a single stuffed animal surrounded by those puffy little air bags.
Haha. Straight to jail.
My husband literally said to me, “well it’s a kind of knitting” 😡🤯 so if you know a good divorce lawyer…
I’m watching a show about knitting that keeps showing images of crocheted pieces and I’m gonna lose my mind. It’s only a matter of time before someone takes the remote away from me.
That’s so sad! My favourite local clay had to be reformulated because of kaolin supply issues and I don’t think I like it as much now. 🥲
I’ve never had a whole batch fail. Just certain glazes or underglazes that misbehave randomly. Or stupid mistakes I make when loading like more than once I’ve loaded brooches glazed side down 🤡
3 raven figurines, glazed but unfired, sitting on top of a container of glaze.
Just turned on the kiln and my stomach is churning with anxiety! It usually isn’t this bad but the new blind box figurines are in there and if something bad happens to them I may just never stop crying.
This machine trying to have a parasocial relationship w me. It’s obsessed.
It makes me so angry I gotta go clean something until my working memory collapses under the strain and I forget for a little while.
I know our dollar is lower, but Toronto is something like the 2nd most expensive Canadian city? You won’t even get a hole in the ground for this price anywhere near here. And that is deeply, deeply upsetting. There’s a video series about literal European castles that are cheaper than a bungalow here
“There are honest people in the world, but only because the devil considers their asking prices ridiculous.”
Pretty sure if it was coded by a real person I’d be able to see the alt text I’m typing as I’m typing it. But currently it’s hidden by the keyboard and won’t let me scroll down. 😑
Another one of those pesky artists who didn’t want my livelihood stolen by Ai douche-canoes here. Whether or not you think LLM’s are “useful” there’s no *ethical* use that currently exists. I want my children to have functioning frontal lobes and water to drink, thanks.
I didn’t click with Rothko until I saw one in person. I went to art school, did years of art history and felt kinda meh about it, until I went to an art gallery while on vacation that had one and I stood there for so long. Just finally “got it”. The depth doesn’t come across in print.
🥲
That would make me so crazy! When I was pregnant I kinda lost it on a few local smokers making it impossible for me to sit on my own balcony.
A very small ceramic vessel painted green with a tiny, dopey squirrel on it.
Just makin’ tiny, stupid shit.
Also I have a bloodhound nose, always have and perimenopause seems to be making it even more sensitive? Aviv doesn’t smell it nearly as often as I do and not strongly enough to bother him. The child occasionally is bothered but it’s mostly me. Could also be the ND bit of me not being able to ignore.
Food smells are totally fine! And even occasional weed stink or other stinks wouldn’t be upsetting. It’s that it’s constant. Having random unpleasant smells is just a byproduct of living closely to other people. It’s not like you were metal etching every single day.
Oh yeah. The number of times I’ve had to ask him to stop smoking in the house because he’s hot boxed my kid’s bedroom is…well I can’t count it on my fingers anymore. So in that sense, yeah, incense would be better, but I also really hate incense 😂
