This is how my family came to the US: my father was hired as an assistant professor at a university. He earned tenure & spent DECADES transferring knowledge to American students. They went on to have careers and (probably) mentor/cultivate others.
Sadly, most Americans don’t understand what can happen to their country when it is no longer a desirable place to live - brain drains are inevitable. The resulting long-term economic collapse will shock some MAGAts out of their delusions, that’s for sure.
There is a vacancy for leadership in the Democratic Party.
It's a brand new ball game. Forget the old rules and customs. No one "deserves" anything due to age and seniority and donors.

I left a job at an NNSA site (national security laboratory) last year, handing in my security clearance as I did so. I'm suddenly MUCH more grateful that I left.
All joking aside, the path we're headed down is widespread civil conflict. Official corruption is generally more of an accelerant than the curtailment of rights, though they often go hand-in-hand, as we're seeing.
