Many of the parliamentary candidates rose to power through their parents' "political legacy." This kind of election, heavily influenced by hereditary succession, has absolutely nothing to do with democracy. #Sikyong #tibet www.facebook.com/tsering.woes...

Parliamentary seats are allocated by sect, but the question is, who is truly qualified to represent a sect? Is it the abbot of the monastery representing that sect who decides, or the voters? #CTA #Sikyong www.youtube.com/live/U2cnZQ6...
The election of parliamentarians is essentially a formality where each sect agrees on its quotas behind the scenes and then throws the list to the voters. Who the candidate is is unimportant; what matters is which sect they represent. #Sikyong #tibet
Election rules explicitly prohibit using religion to create division. Privately, however, sects engage in secret vote-buying and mutual denigration. Monasteries have deep influence over the elections. "Separation of religion and politics" is nothing but a hollow slogan. #Sikyong #CTA
