They blinked at tails they didn’t have before—
“Hey! What’d you do that for?!”
I shrugged (or tried) with a guilty squeak…

Pssshhht! went the air in a panic burst,
“OH NO I DIDN’T—” (well… I did… that’s the worst).
My friends all froze as the mist rolled through…
Then stripes popped out… on them, too?!

My nose went twitchy, my steps went small,
I squeaked out a word—but no words at all.
Just tiny chirps and a nervous sway…
Uh-oh… something’s building—no, wait—no, hey—

A tingle crept up my spine with a twitch,
My hoodie felt tight—then suddenly itch.
White stripe flashed bold from head down my back,
And fur puffed out which I used to lack.

Imma do a skunk now

My arms gave way, my stance dropped low,
My world reshaped in one smooth flow.
My tail flicked back, my thoughts ran thin,
No words came to mind—just sounds within.

Tried once more to speak… just a breathy neigh—
The last of “me” had slipped away.

My lips felt wrong, my jaw felt wide,
My words all tangled and ran to hide.
I sighed… or snorted… it’s hard to say—
Guess human speech just trotted away. 🐎

I tried to shout, “Hey, this isn’t right!”
But it came out loud like a barnyard fright.
“Hel—neeeighhh—huh?!” I tried once more,
Just snorts and whinnies—nothing like before.

My nose stretched out with a boing-y surprise,
My grin went long right under my eyes.
My teeth felt weird—too big, too square,
And suddenly… neigh?!—wait, what was that there?!

My shoes felt strange—too firm, too round,
Each step hit heavy against the ground.
And then I froze in wide-eyed dread.
Why's there so much behind me instead?

I tried to sit—bad choice, I swear,
There’s just too much horse… and not enough chair.

Pants went rip, I let go a startled yelp,
As something behind me grew just by itself.
A flick and a swish—wait, that’s a tail?!
I twisted around, my face turning pale.
