Porsha Ngumezi died at a Texas hospital after bleeding heavily during a miscarriage.
The medical board’s discipline of her doctor felt like “a slap in the face,” her husband said. “What kind of justice is this for Porsha?”

This is a wholesome, well written, inspiring article about Voyager 1. Just amazing technology and best parts of NASA.
That was a horrible thing to say to you.
I will add, based on experience, if you are ever in the position of a potential other spouse, the right person will not feel secondary no matter what you do. They will feel honored.

And I’m perfectly fine with extra words.
The second you kill your wife, you’re no longer a husband.
You’re her killer. That’s a more consequential, irrevocable status than “husband”.
If you kill your partner, you’re no longer their partner.
You’re their killer.
Is this so hard?
100%. I am afraid to see what they [mythical they] try to do to take down HEB. It will be an interesting reckoning to watch. #teamHEB
Somebody on TikTok remarked that Fort Worth was not very Texas, and ma’am, there’s a twice daily cattle drive in the city.
I’m currently listening to a live band playing honky tonk kind of music at the grocery store. Like, what state do you think this is?
Good luck with that. HEB is our Dolly Parton.
I just had to buy a digital download of a Switch game as a gift, for a birthday party my kid is about to attend. Nintendo *does not sell this*, amazingly. Three different ways of logging into Best Buy failed. So I again had to give money to Amazon, which took 30 seconds.
Do better, other companies.
Two freshly cooked waffles on a cooling rack. They are nicely browned
I have made an excellent discovery! I back-engineered my fave sourdough waffle recipe to avoid all animal fats (for husb who has genetic cholesterol issues) by replacing egg & buttermilk with silken tofu, and it’s somehow BETTER than the normal ones? Which were already the best waffles I’ve had!
There's a very good essay to be written about the profound emptiness of *winning* when your project itself is joyless and cruel.
Oh it turns out that vanquishing the college student who uses they/them in their email signature is not bringing you the fulfillment that you hoped for? You are still working in your crappy and unfulfilling job, paying a mortgage you now can't afford, and dealing with your annoying kids... I see.
petition to stop complimenting academics for being “prolific.”
serial killers are also prolific, ijs. anyway, given how many folks are using gAI to write their stuff, i feel like it’s time to retire “prolific.”

This is true in so many ways (think of lots of simulated data/trials/etc.) beyond social bonds as well.
When simulation becomes the norm, it weakens the human capacity for discernment. As a result, our social bonds close in upon themselves, forming self-referential circuits that no longer expose us to reality. We thus come to live within bubbles, impermeable to one another. Feeling threatened by anyone who is different, we grow unaccustomed to encounter and dialogue. In this way, polarization, conflict, fear and violence spread. What is at stake is not merely the risk of error, but a transformation in our very relationship with truth.

My doom scrolling has lead to a broken down arrow/page down key. This will be interesting.
The other side of the story. You recall a couple of weeks ago, the kid that jogged across the road, immediately after a bend, without looking and with earphones in? (Not that wars would help much as I was in an EV.)
Interesting replies.
'She also documented how few women were in federally sponsored clinical trials for AIDS drugs...
That was significant, she told The San Francisco Chronicle, because “the clinical trials are the only way you can get treatment.”' Long helped save so many lives.

You should be able to easily file your taxes for free with the IRS.
Not only did Trump kill Direct File, the IRS's free tax filing program, but this week, Republicans BLOCKED my bill that would make the program law of the land.
That's what you call selling out to TurboTax.
Anyway, if you want more young people to have kids, FIX THE ECONOMY.
April Wilkens has spent 27 years behind bars for killing her ex-fiancé — after years of abuse, stalking and calls to the police that went nowhere.
Her story underscores a legal experiment in Oklahoma, where a new law called the Oklahoma Survivors’ Act offers prisoners like her a chance at freedom.

need a new desk chair? bed? Although my new mattress led to more hip pain and that was not cool. New chair can do wonders. I vote for some of the other answers though too.
My latest.
I’ve been watching the media coverage of the murders of Dr. Cerina Fairfax and Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer.
One way media can fight back against male violence:
If you kill your wife, you don’t get to be called a “husband” any more.
You’re her killer.
