And maybe this post inspires one of my fellow researchers to join me at the next events - there are sure to be more!
Let's keep making science fun and accessible for everyone together!

These moments remind me why I chose this path in the first place. And if I managed to inspire even a single student to become part of the next generation of researchers, teachers, or curious thinkers - then it’s all been worth it.

Recently, I had the honor of being featured in a newspaper article (sadly behind a paywall - www.krone.at/3920600). It's incredibly rewarding to see how curious and engaged young students become when they get hands-on with quantum experiments or dive into the riddles of the Escape Room game.

That's why I feel deeply committed to outreach activates like the OeAD Science Ambassador program, and more recently, the events organized by the various Institutes of QuantA Quantastisch and the Quantum@School Escape Room Challenge by @uniinnsbruck.bsky.social.

As a young scientist working in quantum physics, I strongly believe that sharing our passion for science and inspiring the next generation is not just a nice-to-have, but rather a responsibility.

This work bridges experiment and theory in quantum machine learning by combining an experimental demonstration on photonic hardware with novel theoretical insights into the VC dimension of a data re-uploading scheme evaluating its trainability and generalization properties.

I'm thrilled to share my debut as a first author on our new preprint:
"Experimental data re-uploading with provable enhanced learning capabilities"🔗 scirate.com/arxiv/2507.05120
We show that even a one-qubit model can act as a universal classifier and an effective learner so check it out!

You can also count me in :)
If somebody is interested to see the successful launch of our quantum computer - which I can totally recommend - you can do so here:

I am happy to be part of this amazing team and we are looking forward to run the first quantum computation on a satellite! 🚀🛰️
The world's first quantum computer in space has been successfully launched! The rocket with the #quantumcomputer developed by Philip Walther & his team was successfully lifted off into space on Monday evening. 🚀
We will keep you up to date on the project! Congratulations on the successful launch! 🎉
Today we wrapped up our Quantum ML Workshop – theory meets experiments! A big thank you to all the wonderful speakers and participants for making it so engaging here at @univie.ac.at in Vienna. I really enjoyed the insightful discussions and already look forward to our next get-together!
Tomorrow I will have my first invited talk at an international workshop about Biological Artificial and Quantum Intelligence (BAQ2025) at OIST.🥳
Thanks a lot to the organisers, especially Kae Nemoto for this amazing opportunity.
To whoever is reading this: I am super excited to announce our upcoming workshop, "Quantum Machine Learning: theory meets experiments" at @univie.ac.at ! Join us from April 23rd to 25th for some amazing invited talks from theorists and experimentalists alike.
