Congratulations,Lynne!!
As a kid reading Nancy Drew & Agatha Christie, I couldn’t handle suspense, so I used to ruin the ending for myself from the get-go. Then I’d relax and enjoy catching all the clues and watching the murderer make their mistakes. I’m pretty sure this is why I write mysteries #booksky #writingcommunity
It’s usually the koala’s husband
Also…fantastic murder mystery writer research! #writerscommunity #booksky
Why do I watch every true crime show available? They help me create an internal list of warning signs to add to my gut instincts. For more on instincts, this book about the role of intuition in staying safe is fantastic. And chilling! Thanks, Gavin DeBecker for The Gift of Fear. #TrueCrime #mystery
Nothing like a fresh spring haircut!
A BA in French and German languages and literature. But my sister has an MA in engineering, and she writes.
I’m a pantster. I know how my book ends, just not how I’ll get there. And my problem is hitting a “What happens next?” block. #writingcommunity #booksky
I found our daughter, who is autistic, made a leap in enjoying and understanding longer works when I read MG novels in verse to her. The lines are shorter and hold more meaning, so auditory processing wasn’t as hard. Not as many strings of prepositions to keep track of, perhaps. #ASD #Autism #Kids
I’ll be participating in my first write-in with #Sistersincrimetoronto tomorrow. I’ve let my brain breathe a bit. Time to put the final polish on this mystery #MYTRUECRIMEGOODTIME #mystery #amwriting
#MarkCarney certainly is the right leader at the right time. Thanks, Mr. Prime Minister, for the steady hand and cool head. 🍁 #OCanada
It’s a fabulous photo, though!
My protagonist in MY TRUE CRIME GOOD TIME disapproves of covered bridges, as they are generally too secluded and far too much like tunnels, making the risk to romance ratio unacceptable. #WIP #mystery #amwriting #booksky
I’m at that perfect place in the holidays where I don’t know what day it is. Do NOT tell me.
Pantone just updated their Color Of The Year
Today in googling suspicious questions, I’ve asked which countries do not extradite to Canada and what percentage of serial killers are female. #mysterywriter #NoReally #amwriting #writersofbluesky
Hi, American friends, I’m at a loss for words and my words wouldn’t matter because it’s not my country (I’m Canadian), and no one who can seems willing to do anything, so I guess I just, what? Witness? I’m witnessing.
6 wks ago, a young woman rang our bell late at night looking for her sister in our neighborhood. She suspected she was in danger. She asked my husband to call the police. This week, a man rang our bell looking for a 29yo of a certain name. We don’t know him. I’ve already written the book in my head
2/2 #AlexMurdaugh ‘s secret financial crimes and drug addiction might well have ended in family annihilation even on their own. It’s a classic scenario. #truecrime #murder
#PatriciaArquette is brilliant at showing what must have been Maggie Murdaugh’s growing desperation in #Murdaugh:DeathintheFamily. The whole cast is 🔥 1/2
My newsfeed is 1/3 articles about women who wore sheer dresses to events. One third, and I don’t even click on them. This isn’t news. It’s not even entertainment news! #whocares
I get some emails from my editing website and from my writing website that just say: Get back to me please.

Today in my news feed, more evidence that women LOVE #Dateline. This headline is from Newsweek: “How ‘Dateline’ prepared Helen Mirren for Netflix's ‘Thursday Murder Club.’” #truecrime
Thanks!!
While CLUELESS was a sleeper hit in the summer of 1995, one thing that primed the pump in my anticipation for the film was a series of short sketch commercials that aired on MTV that summer. Here’s one with Julie Brown that premiered during the 1995 MTV Movie Awards.
Thanks so much!
That’s great! I need to brush up with a new tutorial. I know I’m not using it to its fullest.
Not only am I doing a Patreon (link in bio), I’m also doing an Etsy — in which I intend to sell notecards, greeting cards, art prints, and more. What I currently have available are sympathy cards (for grief, chaos, stress) and signed/personalized copies of my books. rafinleyenterprises.etsy.com
