Longwinded previous post aside, I went to only my 2nd estate sale & somehow walked away w/ some cool stuff even after vultures swarmed the place an hour before I got there(now I know in the future if I do go to one, it's best to actually get there off the bat before resellers scoop everything).

It boils down to respect. I don't think this person has or ever had respect for me or my hobby. I don't do this to resell. I do this because collecting is part of who I am. I am not a reseller. I am a collector. If I'm selling something it's because I HAVE TO. Period.

I hadn't said a word to the person since cutting ties. no attempts from either side to. communicate and the first the person says to me on social media is a statement to make an offer for my items. I didn't respond directly and I won't. The person will forget about it and move on so I should too...

I post part of my haul and the one response I get outside of IG is from the same person who wanted to buy that item last year that I wanted simply because of their ability to sell it after. I was disgusted cuz this a person I cut ties with outside of simply following eachother on one platform...

Vultures and scavengers snatched up the most high value stuff within the first hour of the sale but I walked awag with some stuff I thought was cool to me.

Didn't think much of it aside from the being stuff to add to my collection til I got a response after I posted part of my haul...

I bought it and not a thought has entered my head to sell it since and never will.

But why do I mention a thing that happened a year ago now? Because I went to an estate sale this Friday. Only second I ever been to and walked away with what I thought was modest but had sentimental value.

Found an item at a convention that hit every checkmark for what I would want to find there to add to my collection and to my horror, I had learned one of the dudes with us wanted it just to sell. I knew then and there I'd need to protect my hobby as I was surrounded by opportunists.

Last year I was part of a collective and long story short it didn't work out as I kept being used and not appreciated and it was something that was a long time coming. But one moment in particular was one of the nails in the coffin last year...

Deluxe tier is where I usually aim especially secondhand w/ Collector tier aimed more as I become more selective.

Then there's the "Oh Nah" tier which are figs so expensive I'll never give them a second thought. This tier is never reached so I don't even know the lines to list outside of vehicles that are hundreds of dollars and crowdfunded HasLab & the like.

Collector tier includes some Figuarts but the tier above that is the Expensive tier(creative name, I know😂). This the highly detailed, sometimes big, better materials, articulated to the max, even more accessories sometimes. These some Figuarts, Storm Collectibles, MAFEX, Revoltech.

The tier above the Deluxe tier is what I consider the "Collector" tier. Those the ones with even better articulation, more accessories, even better detail, better transformation if applicable. Think WWE Ultimate Edition, McFarlane Platinum Collection/Collector Edition, Transformers Voyager/Leader.

Then there is the tier above Basic which I consider Stsndard. That's the "Pose & Display" Deluxe tier. Has all major points of articulation, passable detail/more true to likenesses, comes w/ a few accessories. Think WWE Elite Collection, Star Wars Black Series, your standard Marvel Legends.
