That was my pick as well.

There are three great business names that I have spotted around the Red Deer, Alberta area.
1. RV There Yet, is a campground
2. The Plumbineers, is a plumbing company
3. Turner On, is an electrical company
Which one is the best?
Welcome to our sale. Everything is half off.
If you’re on the highway to hell then keep on going. 14 episodes of Tales from the Road remain before I am completely caught up. So good!!
Should be there before the end of the week. Thanks for the company as I work. It makes my days so much more enjoyable.
Very dark burrowing owl perched on a power line.
Good morning! 🪶
Sad to say that this old barn in Entwistle, Alberta is now a pile of ash. It sat near the intersection of two major highways and was a local landmark, in a way. I watched it get lower and lower each time I passed. It must have become a safety issue and was burned.

Is this one breaking in or out ? #ue #urbex #Belgium #abandoned
This is the motivation I needed. Godspeed.

Back in the day when open air lavatories were a luxury you definitely wouldn’t want to walk far on a cold Canadian winter’s day.
Just a reminder that the good old days are the result of a bad memory. We live in the best of times.

I figured this had to be the Vanity Ballroom as soon as I saw it after the podcast you did on it. What a beauty.
The image depicts a layered mountain, known as Rainbow Mountain, showcasing striking colors: red, green, and brown. Hikers create a winding line along a dirt trail that cuts through the foreground, leading into the varied hues of the mountain slopes. The sky is filled with clouds casting soft shadows on the landscape.
Vinicunca, aka Rainbow Mountain, located 16,522ft (5,036m) in the Andes of Peru. I took this photo back in 2017 during a trip to Peru but thought it was appropriate for today’s theme.

Rust!!! That is some heavy industrial machinery. 🧡
Although both of these houses are on the same property they were not together on screen. The darker house and barn is from The Messengers and the lighter house was used in Tideland. This stone house was also in Tideland. All near Indianhead, Saskatchewan.

This is the movie set property from the 2007 Kristen Stewart film, The Messengers. The house was constructed for the movie and is just a shell but many scenes were filmed here. Photo taken in the summer of 2021 near Indianhead, Saskatchewan. (Movie still inc.)

A four story town home. Red brick with stone edges. Three windows on each floor, 2 on the lower level beside the entrance door. A wrought iron gate lines the steps and front lawn. The house where a Christmas party takes place in the final story in James Joyce’s The Dubliners.
For Twelfth Night, 15 Usher’s Island, Dublin. The house from James Joyce’s The Dead.
“His soul swooned slowly as he heard the snow falling faintly through the universe and faintly falling, like the descent of their last end, upon all the living and the dead.”

I’ll have to look that up.
There was no church. On Google Earth there shows a church but it was gone as well as any foundation it would have been on.
You first!! 🙂
Followed all
A random steeple in a random North Dakota field from November 2023. We can do all kinds of research and scanning on Google Earth but sometimes just hitting the road can provide it’s own surprises.

I look forward to a revisit to this collapsing barn in winter conditions in a few weeks. This visit was a quick one as the mosquitoes on that day were relentless and threw us into a panic as we escaped frantically.

Whoa. That one was spectacular. Mother nature has a great imagination. I love the sculptural element of the collapse.
Absolutely and those are all found on the backroads away from the chaos of society. I find it so relaxing.
Thank you
I am aware of this beauty. There are some great images of it on the internet. One day I will get to it. The colour is amazing.
You’re welcome. ❤️
I don’t recall but that would make
sense.
