OK, we have our first fully-reporting county already in Virginia. It's rural, red Matthews County.

The 'no' won 72.9% to 27.1%, so +46%.

Earle-Sears won the gov race here by 35% (on her way to losing the state by 15%), and Miyares won by 44% (on his way to losing the state by 7%).

Superpower Suicide The geopolitics of our moment

“Superpower Suicide” is a concept to help understand the approach of the Trump regime to the rest of the world. We are fighting a war for no reason we can name, losing it, and covering our defeat with genocidal and apocalyptic propaganda.

This Isn't Trading. It's Theft from Your Retirement. Someone keeps making perfectly-timed bets right before the President speaks. The victims are your pension, your 401(k), and the country I took an oath to defend.

Fifteen minutes before the President announced he was pausing strikes on Iran, somebody moved $500 million in oil futures. Somebody knew. Somebody told them. Or somebody is them.

I have to admit I was already aged out of watching SpongeBob SquarePants when this episode originally aired.

But my younger colleagues told me to watch this clip.

Opening text of a thread by Palantir from X
Because we get asked a lot.

The Technological Republic, in brief.

1. Silicon Valley owes a moral debt to the country that made its rise possible. The engineering elite of Silicon Valley has an affirmative obligation to participate in the defense of the nation.

2. We must rebel against the tyranny of the apps. Is the iPhone our greatest creative if not crowning achievement as a civilization? The object has changed our lives, but it may also now be limiting and constraining our sense of the possible.

3. Free email is not enough. The decadence of a culture or civilization, and indeed its ruling class, will be forgiven only if that culture is capable of delivering economic growth and security for the public.

4. The limits of soft power, of soaring rhetoric alone, have been exposed. The ability of free and democratic societies to prevail requires something more than moral appeal. It requires hard power, and hard power in this century will be built on software.

Palantir put out a 22-point summary of their CEO's book The Technological Republic. It's pitched as a defence of the West, but if you read it through the VDA framework, verification, deliberation, accountability, what it's actually doing looks rather different.

Yikes! Always something…

We better wake up to what’s happening online. The right isn’t just posting anymore; they’re scaling influence with AI.

📌 AI-generated pro-Trump “influencers” are surging on social media and are starting to shape what people see and believe.

Montana — yes, deep red Montana — has a plan to effectively neuter Citizens United.

No Supreme Court ruling or constitutional amendment needed.

Finland teaches 6-year-olds how to spot disinformation—and they might be better at it than you | Fortune "Media literacy is essential to building societal resilience, and Finland realized this quite early on."

America URGENTLY needs to emulate Finland’s program to teach kids how to spot misinformation & disinformation, especially since the MAHA/MAGA administration is the main purveyor of such dangerous & deadly BS

At 8:31 pm Friday, the US Treasury prolonged Russia's exemption from US oil sanctions for another month. Two days earlier Secretary of Treasury Scott Bessent had promised that this would not be done.
This is sufficient proof that Trump works for Putin.

Dear Media:

Blindly quoting the President without fact-checking or context is just misinformation with a press pass.

We don’t need stenographers; we need journalists. Do your job.
