I miss my workshop so much~ after moving out, I can only do what I can in a small space with few tools.

I love that! 😭 We should be neighbors!!!!

I love this, though I can’t explain why it made me feel like crying. I think it’s the location, the way they’re looking at the sand, and the contrast of the clothing. It feels like the person behind her doesn’t belong there, and that gives the photo a deeper, more emotional story.

Lastly, I aimed to stay true to the theme of “architecture and minimalism”—not entirely traditional, but still elegant when worn.

Jewel Changi — SJDA People's Choice Vote for 'Jewel Changi' by Naval from Philippines

This is one of my favorites. I would truly love to see these designs as actual pieces. I wanted to work more on these entries to properly show how they will drape and lay flat on the wearer's neck and chest

Title: Bulacan
Sponsor: P. Zuniga

When I read the category “Provincial,” I realized how many provinces
the Philippines has. I decided to focus on the province where the
competition is being held. However, with its many cities and municipalities,
it felt incomplete to leave any of the 24 unrepresented.

This led me to create a bangle bracelet that celebrates each city and
municipality through its unique “treasures”—the elements they are best
known for.

Staying true to the theme and the goal, I’m proud that this piece was
able to include every city and municipality while maintaining an elegant
design. It now stands as a symbol of unity, pride, and shared identity.

Backstory: the judges were arguing if I should win the provincial category too, because I was able to tick all the boxes. But since it's becoming a controversy now with how much I'm taking home, people are starting to get pissed. (I didn't know this was happening; they just told me about it later on) So they decided not to give me the provincial category (no problem ^_^).

And this was also why I decided not to join the next competitions anymore, to avoid drama. I'm happy with what I have. I learned a lot from these competitions, and I had a lot of fun challenging myself on how I will be able to include everyone's concerns in the design :)

Title: Orchidaceae
Sponsored by: Sterling Gifts

Queen of Philippine Flowers

This is one of my favorite entries. I enjoy highlighting inspirations
drawn from simple, often overlooked things—those not usually at the
top of the list.

For this piece, I took inspiration from a prom night corsage. I chose the
orchid, known as the Queen of Philippine flowers. It felt fitting for
the purpose, while also offering something more unique and elegant.
It’s not your typical “flower bracelet.”

Since this falls under the chic category, the piece may look luxurious,
but it’s designed to be versatile. It can be worn with an elegant dress
or paired with casual jeans and sneakers. It doesn’t discriminate by
age—whether you’re younger or older, it’s made to make you feel
confident, fashionable, and seen.

Yes, I truly love bracelets, haha. I am happy with how accurately they recreate the drawing (I did my very best to draw the plans) 😂 This was done in silver. One day I plan on buying all the models done😍

Title: Cestrum Nocturnum
Sponsor: P. Zuniga Jewelry

The night-blooming jasmine, or Dama de Noche,
is tied to a tragic Filipino romance involving a
tribal chief and his beloved wife, Dama.

It may seem unusual that I chose this flower as a
symbol of marriage. Rather than focusing on the
tragedy, I see it as a reflection of life itself. Life is
not perfect—there will always be highs and lows.
No matter how strong a couple may seem,
challenges are inevitable. What matters is remembering
why we choose each other, again and again.

Marriage is a sacred union between two people—
whether recognized in court or in church. It is, at its
core, an agreement between two hearts.

This piece symbolizes strength, resilience, and the
importance of not forgetting the hardships that
ultimately make a union stronger.

Title: "Genus Musa"
Sponsor: Ricel's Jewelry

Genus Musa, or the banana plant, is a symbol of abundance and resourcefulness— where every part has a purpose.

This bib necklace brings that idea to life by incorporating elements inspired by the entire plant, from its leaves and trunk to its flower and fruit. Each detail is thoughtfully included in the design, creating a piece that feels full yet balanced.

What makes this piece special is how something so simple and familiar is turned into something refined. It’s bold, elegant, and a quiet celebration of turning everyday beauty into something extraordinary.

I had a lot of fun with this design—it’s honestly one of the pieces that makes me smile the most when worn. It looks clean, elegant, a golden bib necklace, diamond-encrusted, where you feel like royalty.

There’s a playful twist to it that surprises people when they come close, haha. If you don’t look closely, you won’t even notice it’s inspired by the banana fruit, which makes it feel even more fun and a little unexpected.

Instead of feeling pressure and stress, I found myself learning more and focusing on the requirements, limitations, what they want or are looking for, and the things I need to consider. This helps me decide what I need to apply to my designs 😊

Title: Maria Clara
Sponsored by: P. Zuniga Jewelry

Inspired by the Queen Elizabeth pendant, this piece aims
to highlight the elegance and beauty of the Filipinas in a similarly
regal manner. The pamaypay (fan) is re-imagined as the bail,
adding a touch of uniqueness and subtle playfulness to the design.

For historical context, the choker necklace represents the constraints
placed on Filipinas—once seen only as housewives, defined by their
roles and expected to follow rather than lead. Yet, by placing the
Filipina as the center of the piece, the design speaks to her resilience.

Even when restricted, silenced, or “choked” by societal expectations,
Filipinas continue to rise, assert themselves, and shine.

Maria Clara, the iconic protagonist in Jose Rizal’s
Noli Me Tángere embodies the traditional, idealized
Filipina of the Spanish colonial era: demure, virtuous,
religious, and loyal—yet ultimately submissive and tragic.
She is characterized as gentle, caring, and obedient, often
sacrificing her personal happiness for family honor. — Wikipedia

Title: Red Sampaguita
Category: Plain Gold and Silver
Sponsor: P.Zuniga Jewelry

"In this category, I aimed to integrate jewelry with a variety of
materials—ones that are accessible and easy to produce.
Even when crafted in silver, I wanted the design to maintain a
sense of elegance and style, making it suitable for both formal
and casual wear.

The piece was originally named Red Sampaguita, inspired by
my vision of it set on a wooden bangle with warm red tones.
However, it also translates beautifully into a silver version paired
with black onyx.

Overall, the design embodies a balance of simplicity, elegance,
and versatility."

Haha, forgive my sketching skills, I do my best lol. Whenever I make something, I give full consideration to the manufacturers (it is still a business), to the wearer (how comfortable it will be, etc.), while following the competition requirements and theme

As you can see, I have a soft spot for bangle bracelets, haha. I love taking simple ideas or subjects and elevating them through design, while keeping them humble and thoughtful.

Title: Bangled Shoes
Category: Chic
Sponsor: Golden Hills Jewelry

"This piece is a playful entry designed with a younger audience
in mind. I wanted to create something that fits their style while
still giving off an elevated, high-end feel. Chic, defined as
being elegant, stylish, and effortlessly sophisticated, inspired
me to reflect that in this design, but with a playful take.

Rather than following traditional jewelry aesthetics, I saw this
as an opportunity to create something unique for a specific
market. I’ve always loved bangles, so I explored the idea of
re-imagining one with a sneaker-inspired theme—something
unexpected, fun, and still elegant."

I truly enjoyed joining this competition; besides that it was my first time joining, I love to design. I am not very good with sketching 😅, but they did not discriminate, haha. I did my best to show and explain how things should be.

Title: Bamboo Collection
Category: Wedding
Sponsor: NAOMI Jewelry

"The overall theme of my work is to celebrate the province
of Bulacan through jewelry design. I aim to express my
appreciation through creative thinking—transforming simple
elements into pieces that are elegant, unconventional, and rich
in meaning.

The competition was held in Meycauayan, Bulacan, which
became a key inspiration for my collection. The word kawayan,
the Tagalog term for bamboo, served as the foundation of my
concept. Bamboo, known for its strength and flexibility,
symbolizes resilience and adaptability—qualities I wanted to
reflect in my designs.

Through this collection, I explore the idea that with creativity
and intention, even the simplest forms can be transformed
into something beautiful and refined."

🤔Good question, now I'm curious (and thinking about it), and I do have a whack sister, partially whack brother, etc.(got 2 more whackadoodle in the fam), their partners just tolerate and avoid. But I also can see they are doing a lot of harm to others, so it's best not to be associated with them.
